Eagles
My English is not that good because I never went to any English course, except from the English school classes. I learned everything from movies, games and internet. Sometimes I don't understand what Slamman is saying, for example, but I always try to find what some words and expressions means. About typing like you're missing some keys on your keyboard - lik dis brah -, I don't like it. It's worse for me to understand what these kind of people are saying that to understand Slamman's phrases.
lil weasel
Yes, I agree. It can be amusing to HEAR someone making a fool of themselves by trying to talk 'street'. But, to put it in writing seems, ... pitiful as Uncle Jed used to say.
SlickSpencer8
I wouldn't say the words "cuz" "watup?" are "Gangsta" but there more of text word if that makes any sense. But I like to try to type professional cause I like to.
ghost of delete key
... or they have always spelt like that As long as we're picking on grammar here, spelled is the past tense of spell; spelt is a kind of grain. Also, periods usually end sentences. lil weasel
Spelling? It seems general use (although it may take years) will put popular 'incorrect' spelling in the dictionary(s).

Slamman
I really can't believe that, Eagles, Coin-God, just ask for heaven's sake, what's so hard about asking me what I mean?!?! I do speak English natively, and most people get the gist of my conversations, it's not that friggin hard! Seriously
GreatGig
what's so hard about asking me what I mean? Does it not strike you as odd that it's not just one or two members who find it difficult to understand you, it's many more, English speaking ones at that? I'm not having a go or anything, I'm just pointing something out. Luckily, I understand you most of the time but when you do, kind of, "go off on one" as we Brits put it, your post often becomes a virtual fight club for grammar. You have commas in comas, caps lock in a head-lock and exclamation marks being strangled by question marks. I'm not saying you should go changing your ways and become a more proficient writer, all I'm saying is that the problem of people not understanding you is down to your willy-nilly attitude towards grammar. Still, it's the way you write and I suppose if people genuinely think you have something good to say, they'll make the effort to decipher your posts. Again, I'm not having a go, just pointing something out. I don't want another awkward PM Edited April 25, 2012 by TheGreatGig23

OH NO
Am i f*ck going to constantly use apostrophes and that. "youre" is just as good you're in my opinion. Not knocking people with superior typing skills to me though. Its this replacing "have " with "of that slightly irritates me. People get defensivewhen you correct them as well (out of the goodness of my own heart) also maybe slightly looking for an argument. if I started doing the opposite though, "lets of a piece of that cake" "Im well suited to the job, I of numerous skills ,many have which I learnt by the age have 19 . I capitalize a word when it's emphasized in what I am typing, giving it more importance, I don't use BB for sake of BB codes Okay, no problem with that. I guess. I also don't mind commas here and there, My sentences look naked without them That dosn't make any sense. It makes your sentences unreadable. As I've said before, bending the rules of grammar to suit yourself is what makes some of your posts unreadable. Also, do you not think your last sentence looks "naked" without a full stop at the end? The disregard of logic is mind-blowing.
GTA_stu
That mision in GTA IV comes to mind, I think it was called "hating the haters". In my mind Slamman is an effeminate podgy male running away in a pink and cream shell suit (track suit) ,with his fingers in his ears going "lalalala i can't hear you you haters!" and there's a mob of people chasing him with baseball bats. Just so we're clear, that's only the case for this topic. I don't usually have that image in my head.
Slamman
No, that ain't it. What mission?! The fact is, I have no strong suit, I'm a jack-off of all trades! hahaha Seriously, I was a lot worse in my linguistic syntax until I took note of complaints, but part of it comes about because of habit, I developed my typing in recent years via use of Instant Messenger, That was back in the early 2000s, I typed a lot slower then I would say

lil weasel
How about the people who drop the 'not'(*) in their writings (and speech)? "I could * care less." "i failed 'stoaway' [because] I can * get close to the plane." From a NetWork Guide: "...and it should * be too difficult to hit more targets than they get."
