Mak
I happen to be a big grammar freak i just can't stop myself from "blowing" , i have gotten my self detention for "rudely" correcting my teacher's grammar , i hold it against any one who make's a mistake in their sentence but i have to admit even i make mistake's from time to time when i am typing in a hurry. Off-Topic ; I never actually understood the concept of writing 'I' capitol , anyone mind explaining this to me ?
SmC12
I think good grammar is important. It makes the post more interesting to read, and definately says alot about the person. For example abbreviating every word possible would make me assume the person is like 12. But of course there are people here that don't speak English very well, and I understand that and think it's great how they at least put in the effort to make a good post. I've seen people (not just this forum) who go through every post and pick out even the smallest mistakes, and repeatedly give the poster a hard time for it, which I think is really unnessecary. GodfatherX
If you're from an English speaking country and have studied in an all English medium school, then there's absolutely no excuse for bad grammar. Otherwise, it's tolerable. Yeah, pretty much this. Txt spk is what drives me crazy, though, native speakers or not. Just write the f*cking word out. Quite true. English is the best communicable language ever. Quoted for posterity before you have a chance to edit it. "Best communicable" makes no sense at all... Though I agree whole-heartedly with Girish's original post. Not bad to say, but we all know the famous say "ONE MAN'S FOOD IS OTHER MAN's POISON, fully agreed with what Girish said, it may be more suitable for Sunshine to be the best communicative. I am a Canadian and I like English. I have been speaking English since childhood and studied in English medium schools too.

Later edit : Edited my previous post the word "pronounce" was miss spelled Hahaha, that's pathetic. Then again, English teachers (at least all of mine) don't do anything but make us read books. We don't actually learn anything. But still, shouldn't a teacher have better grammar than their students?
GTA 360
I could care less. The proper phrase is I couldn't care less. Meaning that you are already at the lowest point of caring and therefore couldn't care less, however "I could care less" implies that you care more than you could which states that you could be at any point of caring from the absolute utmost of care right down to the point where you almost don't care at all, but not at the point of total carelessness. Your inaccurate phrasing lands you in a situation where you mean the opposite of what you are trying to say.
GTA_stu
I don't think teachers should have to speak the queens english, annunciate and speak perfect. My english teacher was called dave, not only did he have a thick local accent, but he mumbled, had a speech impediment and talked very quickly. You know what? He was the best teacher I've ever had. On the other hand I had another english teacher who talked like a BBC news reader from the 60's and he was terrible. It's more about substance than style. We had a English teacher who used to go offtopic speaking other things like politics and wasting the periods. And our maths teacher is good at English. But the problem is that they attempt to speak in english the way they do not know. They should their betterment.

Dingleman
When people do this on facebook or whatever the same applies - I won't read it. It was understandable during the texting era when it made things cheaper but now there is no excuse, it makes you look like an attention whore IMO. Busted . sonnyBlack
I try not to get too fussed over how other people's grammar is. I try my best to keep the grammar in my posts as good as I possibly can, but I know it's not perfect so I don't expect other people to have perfect grammar either. So to be fair to others I base my respect for them off of their actions and personality. If they're nice and helpful, but have poor grammar, then that's fine as they've already shown that they're at least a pleasant person to speak to. And I'd much rather see more members who are kind to others but have poor grammar than members who are jerks, but type with perfect grammar and punctuation. .2D
To be honest, I think it's pretty important. Obviously if English isn't your first language, then fair enough, no one should be blaming you for bad English. But if you can string together a decent sentance and speak perfect English, but chose to make yourself look like a f*cking tool because you want to save that precious half of a second it takes to add an h to what, or just simply do not bother to put together at least a half decent sentance, then there's a lot more of a chance that people wont read your posts. I don't know what they're doing over there, but in my school, English teachers are only required to know how to read. Between that and gym teachers, our school is paying a bunch of f*cking idiots.
