Luis only seemed like a prick because everybody taught he is. He gave money to his mom, he tried to keep his friends out of trouble. He didn't even care of the money really. AceRay Posted August 11, 2011 Share Posted August 11, 2011 I don't get why everyone calls Johnny an asshole, I always saw his quite controlled and smart, just trying to make his gang better and keeping his head cool despite his gang falling around him. quite tragic really. I pretty much agree with everything MiamiViceCity has said, he's almost always right about everything really. Luis just wasn't that good of a character imo, and he was just sort of there. Luis could have been a Russian midget and it wouldn't really have any effect on the story, the only reason he was actually there is because he happened to work for Gay Tony. He could have worked for anyone really. Johnny and Niko were both integral parts of their storylines, but Luis was just sort of happened to be there. Don't know the names of them by heart, but it was in the Libertonian, when Luis got the diamonds. But i think i have been the stupid one here, i guess i have to agree with you guys. Luis wasn't the perfect character, but at least he was the one that had most fun with in the game. Johnny was indeed very wise, you could tell that from the lines he spoke with people. For a motorcycle gang member, he had the words of a wise old man. Niko was offcourse the most important character, but i guess Luis is still my fav. If TLAD would have been longer, i think i would have liked Johnny better. The end was like you didn't have anything left...so it was like really the end of the game and i haven't played it much after completing it. TBOGT i play almost every day, it's fun, it seams everything worked out finefor the characters, and you still have a some things to do. All 3 are very different...each in their own genre i could say. Luis still wasn't a prick...i mean compared to chracters like Tommy Vercetti( who is the best) who ended up being a rich motherf*cker and didn't have anyone in the end to trust or have as a friend. CJ was a wannabe gangster IMO still, he was just lucky all the time. SA was really just a game... Others were much more realistic. But i'm going OT over here... lol232 Posted August 16, 2011 Share Posted August 16, 2011 Seriously CJ, was NOT f*cked up from beginning to the end, only from, and funniest thing is, that I always agree with miamivicecity, And i am not such a CJ fan, and he was NOT a wannabe "gangsta" , he was a real gangster, he was not annoying, pretty much cool, all those gangsters mostly act like that, he was not dumb, he was awesome character, But First place always goes to Tommy Vercetti, he was an amazing character, and i really find Luis Irritating, like MVC said, Both Niko and Johnny had a loot more sould and heart, they both took the loss hardly but got their revenge, But Luis wasn't bad neither, the storyline was just meant to be with a loot action and more, he was a Fine character, not bad, but a little irritating. He went into these huge battles with the most powerful players in liberty city, and was sure as hell lucky. You know how many times bulgarin sent his huge, well armed army after luis? 4 freaking times, anyone else would've been dead to be honest, and he didn't seem like the badass fighter he thought himself to be, and i'm surprised nobody just shot him in the face because he thought he was tough. But he is a good character, very little development but he was fun, and he was loyal and was smarter than the average street cat. If you listen to him talking with characters while driving and on the phone it's great! I think Luis actually tries to avoid confrontation more so than the other characters. You call Luis a follower who doesn't take the initiative; but then again Niko and Johnny both just take orders and do missions for various shady characters. At least some of the characters Luis does missions for I can respect and appreciate as nice people (Yusuf and Gay Tony are both among the best supporting characters in all of GTA history). Nonetheless it is true that Niko and Johnny showed more emotions and could be seen as having 'more soul'. But I don't think that's really too much of a hinderance. Luis Lopez's style fits with the atmosphere of "The Ballad of Gay Tony". Niko and Johnny's personalities fit in with their respective games. Luis just didn't have much that made him a decent character though. Niko showed a much kinder side on occasion. And even Johnny didn't seem like that horrible of a guy. Luis just seemed like a dick though. what you guys think? Aggression is good in a character, of course we don't want someone who is a total coward lol but its nice to see characters that have redeeming traits which make them likeable Niko & Johnny showed signs of kindness but look at the way they go about their business Luis is spoilt & a ladies man - two things I tend to dislike on certain ppl.
