Branimir202
I know what you guys are thinking, its GTA. Pretty much everybody is prick like. Luis just didn't have much that made him a decent character though. Niko showed a much kinder side on occasion. And even Johnny didn't seem like that horrible of a guy. Luis just seemed like a dick though. what you guys think? Aggression is good in a character, of course we don't want someone who is a total coward lol but its nice to see characters that have redeeming traits which make them likeable Edited July 5, 2011 by Branimir202
Duxfever
Some people think Johnny and Luis and badass. But others think Johnny and Luis and just assholes. I honestly don't know what to say on my part, but it seems that the side that think they're badass only think so because of their actions, and not their personality. But the other side might have been looking at how they treat other people, even their close ones. What's your take on that? And, I agree, an aggressive trait is always good in a character, but I don't think so if that's all they are.
V-E-R-C-E-T-T-I
Very stuck up is how he came across. Thought he was better than he actually was. He was a good character, but he didn't seem like a protagonist type.
CryptReaperDorian
I thought Luis came out as a prick with how he dealt with Margot. Other than that one time, I found Luis to be pretty likeable.
Zyo
Actually I thought Luis was hilarious. The little comments he made in cutscene dialogue always made me laugh. And about Margot, that girl was nuts. Luis handled her about as well as anybody could. LuisLopezLover
Now you've made me really angry. No I'm kidding. But obviously I though Lou was really chill, and even if you didnt favor him, I dont see how he was unlikeable. He was actually too nice for his own good to me. He did a lot of things he didnt need to, like helping Tony. He put himself on the chopping block for him in Partys Over. It worked out for the best but it could have had different results. He was a hypocrite though. And as for Margot he was too nice for her, because she was CRAZY. I would've pushed her.
fgcarva1
Very stuck up is how he came across. Thought he was better than he actually was. He was a good character, but he didn't seem like a protagonist type. Agreed. I think that Luis was a good character, but he didn't seem like a protagonist. He had no special character traits. He seemed to just "be there". He was just an aggressive Puerto Rican guy who didn't say much and didn't represent much. All the game was Luis going with Tony to do something and a clusterf*ck of things leading to Luis saving the day. He didn't have the initiative to do sh*t by himself or kill someone because he felt like it (except in Departure Time, and Party's Over). He was stupider than a f*cking doorknob and didn't really start any good arguments or participate in conversations... like I said, he seemed to just "be there". Mister Pink
I think Rockstar executed Luis's character pretty well. I think he's very likeable. Yes, he goes on a little cynical but it seems he has to be that way due to the lack of intelligence Armando and 'H' display. Luis is obviously more wiser than they average criminal (ie. Armando and H). He's trying to do legitimate work even if it means being teased about it by his friends. Luis, is straight forward, maybe even an asshole but it's usually directed towards women. He's a player and guys that are players act like dicks to their women. But, if he cares about you, he'll take care of you. He really excels and comes to the rescue of Tony. He hated Evan and whether it's business or friendship he wants to do right by Tony as Tony (maybe due to his lack of good judgement or him being wasted or desperate, hired a known criminal, Luis.) Luis looks after his mother and bails his mates out a lot. He got rid of the loan shark that was hassling his mother by going down in a cage fight in the 3rd round and when he told his mother that he got rid of the debt, she was an ungrateful bitch, but Luis moves on quickly. So, I dunno if he's an asshole. He's just streetwise. He's been in prison for two years, too and he went to prison cause he took the blame for one of H or Armando. So, no actually. I wouldn't even call him an ashole. I think he's a decent guy and very likeable. Best protagonist, for me, in the IV era. WF the Hobgoblin
I thought Luis was alright. Yeah, he may have been a prick at times and seemed a bit full of himself, but he was pretty loyal and generally an ok guy. I thought Armando and Henrique were worse, particularly Armando. Luis took time out to come and help them and in return he got a relentless barrage of insults slung at him. I didn't hate them though, I quite liked hanging out with them and doing drug deals, but they definitely a couple of dicks. I remember at one point they were bitching because he worked downtown at the club and Luis was saying that he was only ten minutes away on the train. Do they not know that he lives just around the bloody corner? He's got an apartment like a block away from his mother's. boyben
HONESTLY, I love Luis. I never really thought that he was a prick/dick/asshole at all. I thought he was funny, too. Not to get homo over the guy, but I really just enjoyed TBOGT all together. Probably also my favorite game from the IV era, too.
guib
He is less straight forward toward his feelings, not as Niko, who always says what he feels, and I think Johnny was the asshole in here, I haven't saw almost nothing positive in him

CheesyJ
Luis was okay, but what bothered me was the way that he thought he was now better than the rest of his things because he had went and gotten a proper job. Whenever he was with Armando and Henrique, he seemed to give across the impression that he would have much rather been elsewhere and was only with them to keep them happy, which I didn't like. Algonquin Assassin
I found Luis' personality rather irritating to be honest. He acted like a big shot, but he was running security at a night club and lived in an average apartment. Niko and Johnny had their flaws, but their personalities fitted their surroundings a lot better and came across as more believable IMO. With Luis it felt like he was just a rush job, so R* could appeal to the SA fanbase with the type of game TBOGT was. He's not what I would call a "terrible" character, but I've always felt Niko and Johnny had way more heart and soul put into them. AndrefromEstonia
I don't wanna say this, but you guys are just so wrong. You don't get the character at all. He didn't think anything. Others were. Luis only seemed like a prick because everybody taught he is. He gave money to his mom, he tried to keep his friends out of trouble. He didn't even care of the money really. Some choises he made were bad...but at least he is better then f*cking CJ...now that was a dumb character.

Even Bulgarin was annoying as hell in TBOGT. The only character I really liked was Gay Tony. IMO he had the most depth. All the others were A) tools or B) annoying. Then some were a combination of the two. AndrefromEstonia: I always used to be hard on CJ, but he's really not that bad. There's no contest between him and Luis. CJ is a better character IMO. AndrefromEstonia
He did quite stupid things, even his sister told him that. I'm not gonna go very detail about it, but f*cked up part. I mean when he came back to LS, he even didn't know wtf was going on. In the end he was like a pure wannabe gangster, not really wiser. He was rich and had companys and houses n sh*t, but still fought with other gangs. There were parts that were good but i don't have time to write everything down. Even if he was an asshole at times, he was always loyal to the people he loved. Not really. You could see that he didn't enjoy spending time with his family, or spending time with Armando and Henrique. I don't think he would ever plain abandon them, but he seemed to think that he was a lot better than them. If he had been given the chance to move to a better area than where he was at the time, I'm sure he would have jumped at the opportunitiy.
