[TUT] Resizing Images For Signatures

Recommended Posts

I have seen a lot of people wondering how to resize an image so they can use it as a signature and it's actually very easy to do (3 step's!)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What will we be using?

Adobe Photoshop (Any version).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Step 1). Open the image you would like to resize. I will be using this image for the sake of the tutorial.

Step 2). Crop the image to what you want to be shown.

Step 3). After you are done cropping, we can really get to the purpose of this tutorial. Head over to Image > Image Size. After the pop up come's up, You will want to look to the bottom left of it and check the box that say's "Constrain Proportions". After you have done that, You will need to click next to the word height and erase the number that is there and put "150". Now Click "OK".

Now you can do whatever you want with it (Like play around with lighting effects and all that good stuff!).

Although you may have to posterize the image because all of those cool effects can make the image size bigger! To do this you will need to merge all layer's (Layer > Merge Visible) and then navigate over to Image > Adjustments > Posterize (Thank's Narcis for telling me how to do this).

Nice and simple for beginners. Maybe now there'll be less of these requests. Good job. icon14.gif

I have 2 and 3 more ways to re-sizing images. I think I should make a small TUT too.

Thank's for making that clear even after I told you I honestly don't care.

What are you even doing in the GFX Request section?

I've seen you do one request.

GFX is bit of part-time Hobby for me. So I decided to learn it. I am not so good at it. But I still respect all GFX Artists here. Glad you liked the idea.

Use posterize only if the image is transparent, if not the use jpg format.
