Jyak
Voted 80-90, asI believe they really just need to piece it all together now. But I'm kinda hoping it's around 70-80, so the game might be more jam packed with content, so worth the wait.

I would say it is getting pretty close to finished, they just have other titles (MP3) that have priority at the moment 10 - 20% is still a while to go anyway, i still expect a mid - 2012 announcement, i stick by my guess from last year, maybe i will be on the money. Matty
I honestly would say that Rockstar North wouldn't be any further then 50% into developing the next Grand Theft Auto. They have been working on other games which have been keeping them occupied since Grand Theft Auto IV's release. Also, Gamespot's recent article on the topic of the next Grand Theft Auto game states that development is "well underway"--that obviously, in my opinion; doesn't mean near (80/90%) complete. Actually, that article said they only had to put in the mini games and some tweaking. Don't be surprised if its announced soon and released next year

GR7
70-80% I remember some site saying they only had mini-games left to complete, if they were legit that could be good news for us unless they have a sh*t load of minigames planned this time around. Rucke
In late 2009 they hadn't even come up with a city or a plot. I can't imagine the next GTA being more than 40-50% complete.

Finn 7 five 11
In late 2009 they hadn't even come up with a city or a plot. I can't imagine the next GTA being more than 40-50% complete. They were probably brainstorming ideas then, planning takes a while, but late 2009 to mid 2012 is plenty of time to fully develop a game, The step from San Andreas to GTA IV took 3 years (yes it was released in 08 but only because it was delayed.) The change won't be nearly so big this time considering that the platform has been worked on previously, and the fact that the current console are unable of handling much more. By the way i was interested to see the opinions in the poll, but obviously the mod thinks that the thread will move further without it. Usually with polls people just post what they picked, and not why. Edited July 4, 2011 by finn4life

Miro
I'd go with 40%. They simply spent too much time with creating other games like L.A. Noire or Red Dead Redemption. Plus that there are speculations that they're working on Agent now. I pretty much expect an announcement at the E3 2012 and it to be released in 2013. I wish they could have revealed something this year at E3 though. Dead (Retired)
AndreaXCII
i dont know the exact steps in the process of making a game but if that "source" was correct about it being in the end stages and mini-games were being applied, probably 80-90%

LA Noire was made by an Australian dev called Team Bondi. R* North have not released a game for a while. The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing. Andrew
Rockstar are probably halfway through development for GTAV, as by now we'd normally have some form of teaser should they be close to completing development. However they have had alot of projects on their plate at most of the studios. R* North worked on Vice City, can't remember if they worked on San Andreas. It is a very good chance that R* North are heavily involved in the development of GTAV.

Finn 7 five 11
Not being funny, but do you mind not posting off topic? I think he is pointing out the fact that R* North are the sole creators of GTA. Other R* branches work on the ports to PC. R* North were involved in the developement of RDR along with San Diego.
Andrew
That is on topic mate, I was referring to that part I quoted..... Which could of quite easily gone into a PM to myself. It's posts like that, that end up derailing a topic as everyone after the initial post wishes to comment on it. I completely forgot that Rockstar North are the sole developers of GTA, it has been a while since I've actually paid attention to which R* studio develops the games. As far as I am aware it's a Rockstar game and that is all I need to know. Back on topic, if Rockstar north haven't released a game for a while, then they are probably hard at work over the next GTA. GTA_stu
I reckon about 75% of the game is done, and a release in about a year. Just because of the fact that it's been 3 years now since IV was released, and we haven't had any official news yet. I don't see it taking them more than 4 years to develop it, and I think some official news will reach us before the end of the year.

Maybe they want to be sure they won't have any delays before announcing it this time. Surely delaying a game once or even twice is bad for business. CookPassBabtridge
Also agree with Stu. I think a release of Easter 2012 might be possible, shareholders wont want to hang out too long. Plus as someone mentioned earlier, the engine/platform is now in place. Still a bit surprised there has been zero bits of info up until now..... CookPassBabtridge
Im still seeing a fair number of job ads for environment modellers for North, maybe they have the final push on to get it all built. DS 17
65%It can't be that far off, it won't be released on 2011 anyways. That's just a bit more than the half. Don't think so, because they got several years for the development. And remember a game has to be tested several months before the release. After the testing period they have to fix the found bugs and then a release is possible. So I say 80-90%.
