I suggest you doing the Driving School.

Zero's missions should also be finished.

Mission: Vertical Bird

Notes: WHY ... ARE ALL THESE MISSIONS SO HARD?!...

Since You ASKED:

‘Hard’ is relative.

Do you think about what needs to be done and what weapons and skills are needed to accomplish the task?

Vertical Bird.

CJ sneaks aboard (use Crouch) using silenced pistol to kill Mechanic, or just sneak past him.

Sneak up the ladder to the lounge. Kill the Marine there by a single head shot. Pickup his M4.

Sneak to the Control room. At this point it really doesn’t matter if you’re found. Kill everybody.

Turn off the SAM missile controls.

Go to the Jets. Kill everybody.

Plant Demo charges (found behind the SF country Club) on the Jet located on the portside elevator and the inboard Jet.

Blow them up. (Now you will have only one Jet to contend with.)

Board the remaining Jet on the Aft elevator.

As soon as CJ settles in the Jet will raise on the elevator.

Rotate the Jet to face forward and Lift off as you raise the landing gear.

Tilt the nose up and activate forward flight power.

Climb until the Enemy Jet announces his intent to attack. (Watch the Radar).

Place the Jet in Hover Mode. Start spinning in place as you engage the targeting and firing missiles. (It’s nice that the Jet has infinite ammo). Until the foeman is eliminated.

OR After the foeman announces engagement LAND under the bridge. He will crash into the bridge.

Note: If you hadn’t blown-up the two Jets on the Assault ship they will also engage you.

Now that the that threat is eliminated you can go after the ‘ships’.

If you have difficulty flying land at the Verdant Meadows airdrome. You may use the Hunter attack chopper if you earned it. Or take the HEAT missile launcher (found at the Pueblo on the hill) and go after the ships from land.

After eliminating the ‘Ships’ return to the field and put the Hydra in the hanger.

DONE. Remember in quite a few of the missions there is more than the one way to complete them.

Since this is the Only mission using the Hydra. I can suggest you use a cheat to get one to practice with, BUT DON’T SAVE after you have practiced flying it.
