mediocore Posted July 3, 2011 Share Posted July 3, 2011 Sources close to Take Two have been quoted all over the internet that GTA V is 'well under way' and that in-game extra's such as mini-games are already being implemented. http://www.computerandvideogames.com/30832...-likely-source/ Has anyone got any ideas what these mini-games could be? I've been taking a look at the games Take Two have worked on in the past and noticed they work on a lot of sports titles. NBA, Major League Baseball, Tennis, NHL, Boxing, NFL... Making me think they must have guys at Take Two HQ with knowledge on how to make a good sports game, this also got me thinking that maybe the fitness element of San Andreas could make a return. I also noticed Take Two worked with Rockstar on the Timbaland Beaterator iphone app. If the rumours of a Hollywood location are to be believed, a mixer mini-game would be perfectly suited, also a good way of welcoming back OJ Loc, the irritating bastard. GTA_stu Posted July 3, 2011 Share Posted July 3, 2011 Well I don't think they'll throw sports mini games in there just because T2 own 2k, they'll put them in if it suits the game. I think we'll see the same type of pub games like darts and pool. I also think there will be more gambling games like blackjack and poker. I was not a fan of the 'Gangster' era. Maybe he'll be mentioned in passing, like a friend of a friend type thing. Like when Tommy was mentioned in SA. dethbiker Posted July 4, 2011 Share Posted July 4, 2011 Basketball,it could go well if you challenge some guys already playing to try and outscore you(who gets the most 3-pointers in a certain amount of time)or go one-on-one against you.Now some could say that this could be implemented as a friend activity,but I HATE the needy friends in GTA that get mad at you because you spend 5 minutes without calling them(seriously,all activities were basically drive from point A to point B and back),and you would spend more time on activities rather than on missions or just free roaming. They should make mini-games to associate with the land. Like Los Santos has a Graffiti Mini Game or something like Jet Grind Radio had where you have those quick time events. They should also add some Quick time events to some stuff in GTA. Nothing overdoing it tho like in Heavy Rain or RE4. Stuff that comes naturally tho with the flow of a cut scene. But for mini-games. Putt Putt Golf, Shooting Range, Dancing, probably a drinking mini game like in TBOGT. Oh plus arcade games would be great too. Maybe some love for Pogo the monkey? and also the rest can be the normal Pool, Darts, Etc. I want all the mini games from San Andreas and GTA IV mixed in with eachother. Haha. Yeah you can't exactly take a friend out and shoot them with a real rifle because it is mission failed. I really enjoyed the RC races, (aeroplanes/cars), they were a fun little mini-game. Because there are actual guns in the game.most of the missions are about shooting people,so you basically already have paintball,but actually better.I think developing such a thing would be just wasted time,and time is money. You must be talking about GTA San Andreas. There were triathalons in it. Oh along with putt putt...there should be a batting cage...again...I'm just sayin. Also, if the character is allowed to get drunk...why not implement beer pong or quarters?? C'mon R* make it happen!! infiniteammo Posted December 12, 2012 Share Posted December 12, 2012 I'm happy with what we've had, though what I'd like to see in the future the minigames get tweaked a lot more before release, the billiards (pool/8 ball) in San Andreas was better than it was in IV, and the bowling had pretty firm (and stale) physics, then when it got watered down to the air hockey in TBogT, I've played better flash air hockey games... what gives with that? Do Vigilante missions count? I always enjoyed though, though I always thought they could be a bit more detailed, or even less so. Regular police cruisers would have to deal with things like shootouts, crazy drivers, suspicious activity, but also get into things like domestic violence or foiling bank robberies, but then I've always found the idea of a corrupt cop storyline as a great idea for GTA for the main story so... go figure. Would like to see Paramedic and Fire missions return, I think we can count on repo minigames being good, am looking forward to those. I mean that's Franklin's job, and I think we're going to see some Chinatown Wars style drug dealing with Trevor, don't know what kind of stuff like that we're going to see for Michael though... and from what I gather it looks like minigames are going to blur with missions and character development. >.> But then that's just my two cents.
