I've got my guys gathered in a Burrito van, we're parked outside the correctional facility getting locked and loaded. Waiting on the fire truck to pull up so we can make our move...

Just to triple check, we got Alex as the wheelman for the Infernus and Payne taking the fire truck? If we're short of good men to get the fire truck, we could order a few goons to handle the hijacking. It's a fairly simple job, anyway. We'll be right behind them to keep them protected when the sh*t hits the fan.

OOC: The POV idea sounds a bit better. Oh and if you want to use any other vehicles (fire truck), you must write a story about stealing it first.

Anyway, I contacted one of my brigadiers, Konstantin, he managed to get some huge explosives.

the Fire Truck's around Bohan are usually pretty easy to steal, easier to steal than some damn cars, dont get some crazy homeboy with a motherf*cking machete jumping you while you're trying to pick the lock. I'll pick up the Fire Truck and offload it on whoever will be using it?

Wait, do I need to make a backstory for the van we're using then, too? I guess we just stole it hot off the street, since we will probably be disposing of the evidence afterward anyway. I'll be waiting in position for whoever is driving the fire truck to spark the next step of the plan.

Ok to clarify:

I handle the fire truck, Mr Alex handles the infernus, Dragan handles the support van, no actual charcters will be in the support sultan it will just follow, Falcone starts the fire and meets up with the pakhan.

In order:

The van(dragan and his team), sultan (hired back up) and infernus (mr alex) are parked nearby the prison, falcone starts the fire then meets up with the pakhan in the yard. The fire truck is dispatched and promptly hijacked (payne (me) and his team). The fire truck now under control of payne and his team goes en route to the facility, parking in the gate. Dragan and his team then pull up to help and assist the assault, making their way to the pakhan. When they reach the pakhan, payne radios to alex to bring the infernus round. The pakhan is secured in the infernus and driven away by alex, with the sultan soon meeting up and following behind. The assault team of both the fire truck and the van (including falcone), get back into the van and make off.

(OOC)

-So I write about hijcaking the fire truck with my team, and getting it to the facility and parking it at the gate.

-dragan can write about the actual assault, and getting the pakhan back to the car.

-alex writes about the escape

-falcone writes about how he starts the fire and meets up with the pakhan. (also the escape in the van if you want

That way everyone gets roughly the same amount of input into the story. Does that seem fair?

Also, are we writing it up in chronological order? i.e. tyla writes first about the fire and meeting the pakhan, i write about the fire truck hijack, akavari writes about the assault and C4C writes about the escape? Or should we just write it in whatever order?

.

(OOC) Tyla should go first about the fire, then GTA_stu about the firetruck, then me about the assault, then C4C about picking up the Pakhan and the escape, and maybe finally Tyla or me again about our escape.

We can always edit our part of the story to fit better with other peoples' details as we go along. It will work out fine I think icon14.gif

chronologically would be best, we can work from what has been said previously to prevent any clashes. kind of like a chain story, only instead of it being just a paragraph and passing it on, you can write as much as you like about your event then you pass it on.

Yeh ok that sounds good, so tyla you're up first pal.

EDIT: I should have my part to the story up in about an hour and half.

Prison Break

The neat crease of Resta Falcone's tanned thumbs formed the torn pages into one singular press, long and lean, a small hole created at the top. They had once belonged to a book detailing psychology and numerous manuals of the same subject were stacked within his cell, if not to be read, to be used as makeshift exercise equipment. Often, Falcone would find practical uses for everyday equipment that would be otherwise discarded by the average man and today, he would be applying the same genius to a daring escape plan, one that if successful would not only secure his own freedom, but that of the notorious Pakhan Matius Petrovic. Wiping the stained book print from his digits onto compulsory orange garments, he slips the torn page into his back pocket and prepares for writing a new chapter.

With a meek cry, the mouse fell into the warmth of his hands with little reservation. Alderney State Correctional was well known for being a filthy, ill-maintained institution, home to an unwelcome wealth of outside organisms; the creature had simply scurried into his cell through the cast iron bars and in possessing a natural inclination for animals, Falcone had kept and tamed the mouse. Unfortunately for the rodent, Resta also beheld the proclivity to never let himself get close to anything for long. Despite it's movements, the mouse found its tail looped by a thin thread of spare cotton and tied into the folded sheets of paper, it too being shoved deep into the pocket of Falcone's trouser leg.

In being escorted to the prison kitchens in the north of Alderney's penitentiary, everything about Resta spoke of his Sicilian stock; the impeccably combed mane of swept back, jet black hair, the cruel brown of his eyes and the bronzed, dangerous complexion bore violent contrasts with the cold tones of institution caging him at every turn, down every corridor, all the way to the vile stenches wafting in from the prison kitchens. The guards parted company at the presence of a sole kitchen employee, who simply emitted Resta into the galley and left him to his own devices.

Now, Falcone takes the creature into his hand once again, taking care to tighten the thread around the mouse's fleshy tail, much to the rodents discomfort. Over a cooling tray of discarded cooking oil dangles the torn, folded paper, and soon becomes saturated with it's scolding heat; with the flicker of the stove's flame, it ignites. Resta sets the pest down on the floor and immediately, it's little legs dash into the storage at speed, fire kindling at the fur. The mouse scurries through cardboard containers, along wooden shelves, leaving streaks of flames in it's path, slowly charring a painful black until it reaches it's fatal destination; the propane cylinder responsible for powering the huge kitchen refrigerator. Flame meets gas and the initial explosion mushrooms skyward, the second a fierce blast that almost singes the dark hairs on the back of Resta's neck.

The sudden burst of heat fades with the wet of dousing water and at the halt of the ringing, Falcone's ears are filled with the rehearsed orders of sprawling officers, bringing the canteen population into separate lines to be drawn out onto the west courtyard. Through the crowding orange jumpsuits, Resta's clouded eyes search for the Pakhan. Finally, he locates him within the wire fencing, taking up position beside him as the smoke bellows out above.

The sirens begin to blaze in the distance...

FIRE! FIRE!

I was on the corner of Hardtack Avenue and Aspdin Drive, stood leaning up against the wall with my hands in my pockets. Smoking my cigar I suddenly heard an almighty bang in the distance; Falcone had done it. I looked to my left where the 4 men were standing “You guys ready?” The nearby Tudor fire station would be getting a call any minute now.

The siren blaring in the distance was getting nearer, “Ok now”. We stepped out into the road forming a line and blocking the engine’s path. The flashing lights danced off the walls as it closed in, coming to a steady stop the driver beeped the loud horn. “GET OUTTA THE F*CKING WAY WE GOTTA ‘MERGENCY TO GET TO!”. I shook my head and slowly approached the cab window, holding my arms behind my back. I then revealed the AK, pointing it at them and gesturing to get out the vehicle.

They all clambered out the truck and were about to head off back to the station. "where you guys going? We need those, so hand 'em over." They wriggled out of the thick protective fluorescent clothing, placing it on the floor along with their helmets. It was a cold night so they must have been freezing their balls off. We suited up and got in the fire truck. I rolled down the window and shouted "Hey, you motherf*ckers head down Aspdin, OK? We see you heading back to the station and we'll blow your f*cking heads off." It was now a race to get to the prison before the alarm could be raised.

I threw it into gear and floored it heading east toward the now giant smoke plume. Twisting and turning, the engine screeched through the streets hitting lamposts and scraping cars. I was desperately trying to get there as fast as I could, in my mind I could see the firemen sprinting back to the station. I raced passed the canal, entering the Acter industrial estate, the guards would be able to hear the sirens from here. Passing the chemical containers and gas cannisters the prison came in view.

The gates were open and a welcoming party of armed guards were stood waiting, a wall of flames shooting out of the main housing block reached into the air illuminating the sky. I plowed into a group of guards, then backed up and slammed the breaks on, stopping slap bang in the middle of the gates. I looked in the wing mirror and saw van quickly approaching from behind...

Incarceration Situation

The ambient sound of the Vibe 98.8 filled the quiet space of the van as I and my three gunmen checked our gear. Kevlar vests, ski masks, radio transceivers and AK47s. We quietly sat premeditating the strategy in our heads: sweating, nervous, anxious. I clumsily climbed to the drivers seat, my momentum swaying the van back and forth in its place. That worn-and-torn Declasse Burrito was cramped enough with just the for of us, let alone maneuvering out of combat with a fifth guy on-board. We had picked up this roach company van hot off West Tudor, but it would be a few hours before it'd even be reported missing.

Sitting there, I kept a lookout for our crucial fire truck while smoking my last bent redwood to look inconspicuous and help calm my composure. The other guys made small talk about the LC Swingers and other irrelevancies to pass the time; I ignored them being more focused on our objective, anticipating the behavior of the prison guards visible in the distance. Suddenly a loud pulsating rumble shook the van coupled with a glass-shattering combustion that crippled a whole section of the prison. I jumped at the sound and nearly swallowed my cigarette, uncomfortably twisting down low to catch a squinting glimpse of the mushroom cloud of black smoke rising from inside the prison walls.

Finally, there it is; I heard the sirens growing faintly in the distance. "Mo-ment of truth, get ready now" I pronounced violently to my accomplices. Our decoy fire truck came barreling around the corner at high speeds, making a wide turn and slamming through a crowd of guards, then reversing backward. I floored the accelerator, mustering up all the horsepower available. The Burrito yanked forward and swung tightly around the corner at breakneck speed, forcing our way clean through the entrance. A few hacks were in our path and jumped out of harms way but one, who got clipped by the side of the van and folded into a whimpering pile of injury. I jackknifed the van to a screeching halt in the driveway.

After recovering from the intense whiplash, we burst out of the van looking like paramilitaries armed to the teeth. Each of my guys pulled improvised smoke bombs, so crude they were already leaking fumes, and spiked them down-range to hamper the guards' organization. We followed up the smoke screens with an indiscriminate symphony of suppressive fire. The prison sirens immediately started wailing, so loud it drowned out the sound of everything but our gunshots. Snipers along the top of the wall started firing off in our direction and I heard the hiss of bullets whizzing dangerously close. One of my guys got drilled in the chest with one of their stray bullets, albeit absorbed by the ballistic vest. I sprayed calculated increments at the watch towers as if I were watering a garden, managing to pick off a few exposed bodies in the meanwhile. I kept the snipers at bay, pinned behind cover. My three other gunners were split up and gunning down prison guards in every direction. Things were going smoothly so far.

I motioned to my accomplices to regroup, and we formed into a tight squad marching our way over fresh corpses of COs, into the western courtyard. I scanned through the pockets of erratic inmates and recognized the Pakhan among them. With him was a middle-aged man who I assumed was our Resta. A flood of SORT teams poured out of every crevice in the prison, engaging us from different angles. We let loose as a firing squad to cover our two VIPs. My AK47 yielded a stubborn click as yet another magazine was spent, so I lugged it onto the pavement and blindly grabbed around my person for a spare, hastily jamming it into the receiver to continue my barrage. One on my team got popped in the head, standing so close to me that pieces of his skull and brain matter were left on me. I put aside my disgust and fired my rifle wildly against the torrent of enemies while the Pakhan and Resta made their way to the van.

Everyone else started backtracking too, so I turned my back and ran to catch up. During my desperately vulnerable sprint I was hit in the back twice by a 9mm, plumes of shredded Kevlar sneezing into the air as the bullet holes were formed. I stumbled and retaliated to keep them off me, emptying the rest of my magazine at the bastards. The prison was in ruins, not only from our exchange of small arms fire but from the propane explosion as well. Our once-beautiful Declasse was now full of holes as it sat as a slab of cover and you could plainly see the moonlight shining through into its interior. A sharp engine was then heard, as an Infernus sliced its way through the mayhem to scoop up the Pakhan...

I sat in my scorching red Infernus, the type of supercar you only see in hip hop videos...or when you are busting a high warrant gang leader out of prison. I heard all the expected ambient noises, the siren of the prison, the siren of the Fire Truck, the gunfire. after watching guard after guard drop from the towers, I sprung into action, dropping my Sprunk Energy can out of the window and allowing an almight roar to escape the engine of the Infernus.

I spun into the prison, taking semi-automatic fire from the guards M16's, thankfully the Infernus's bullet proof plating protected me to an extent. I saw the rest of the crew taking cover near the nearly destroyed van, so I gunned it forward and yanked up the handbrake, pulling parallel with the van. I got out and shouted for the Pakhan to join me as I fired my AK-47 from over the supercar. I had removed the stock so my fire was a lot less accurate than it could be, but it was good enough to make the guards realise we were a force to be reckoned with.

"I'll see you boys back at the source, any trouble, get me on the CB!" I hollered to the rest of the prison break crew as Pakhan and I spun out of the prison grounds.

we headed for the Skyway through the two minute window of oppourtinity before we knew NOoSE teams would close in on the prison. I felt bad for leaving my comrades in the sh*t, however I knew they could survive without me; I had extracted the Pakhan and hardly suffered, caffeine flowing through me, provding the much needed reflexes for such a job. I had contemplated taking coke to keep me buzzing but knew it wouldnt end well, so as I raced through Alderney like the drug in my bloodstream, I passed a Police Cruiser, who when I peeked in my rearview, I saw him go to flip the siren, but we got too far for him to even contemplate a chase.

we hit Algonquin so I slowed down and headed through my home turf, Northwood. I knew none of the homeboys would try jacking a superd piece of metal like this, so I took it slow, stopping at stop lights. with a relatively relaxed drive, we came to the Northwood Heights Bridge so I opened it up a little, the road was pretty dead at 4am. maintaining speed into Grand Boulevard, I hung a slow right and headed into Industial, going towards the warehouse.

I pulled into the yard and head into the open shutter, switching off the engine of the Infernus and opening the Pakhan's door, waiting for the others to make their escape and hoping there are safe...

Incarceration Situation Pt.II

...we crammed into the worn-and-torn Burrito and I started off in the direction of the Pakhan and Alex. We sustained a couple of hits from the remnants of the prison guard on our way out. My two guys were almost dry on ammo at this point. Alex' taillights faded off in the distance as they sped to the high roads, so I made a detour through Port Tudor. Three police cruisers aligned onto our trail and started gaining on us. Our getaway van wasn't very nondescript, having been shredded to bits. Resta joined me up front in the passenger seat while my two goons kicked open the back doors of the van and produced their assault rifles. Using the rest of the ammo left they hosed down the pursuing cars with lead, penetrating their windshields and painting the interior of their cars with blood. We started picking up some serious speed after losing the cops, allowing us to offload our exhausted getaway vehicle in favor of a new one. We ditched the van in an Alderney City back alley, migrating to a more sporty and immaculate Karin Intruder. We smashed the window of it and hotwired it rather easily, then proceeded back on course. We blew through the booth tunnel in a matter of seconds and emerged on the other side in Algonquin. We were running late, the vehicle switch consuming too much time. The drive up through Charge Island to get to Bohan was long and silent, we were exhausted and paranoid. Finally, we entered the warehouse lot and parked the Intruder next to the familiar red Infernus, where we reunited with the Matias and Alex...

I watched as the van eventually turned up, everyone piling out, battered with torn clothing but alive...that tends to help.

Pakhan stepped forward and took the floor...

(OOC) I thought it might will Mati into knowing the job is done and we are awaiting his approval.

My fellow crime family has managed to break me out of the sh*thole, after my short, yet fun vacation in preschool. Prison wasn't that bad, I actually enjoyed the time I stuck that arrested Pavano dickhead between the metal fence. But now it's time for reality and intelligence, I there's more to do than get ourselves a place in the organized crime again. I have to find out the current status of the other gangs, our own economic status and I must try to revive some broken connections. As you can see, there's a lot stuff to do. For now, I managed to get you all a fine reward, each of you gets a nice sum of 5000$ (don't forget the tribute) plus each an AK74 with 10 clips. As soon as I have new information, I'll let you know.

Oh and Mr. Dragan, I propose you to take a role as a Boyevik. You have proven yourself more than once that you're a worthy member in my family.

The Notorious MOB

I've been reading through this topic and I noticed you guys talking about expanding this to include other gangs. I had an idea a while ago about a concept that would use of Build Up Your Gang in order to make one communal concept thread based around the many different gangs in Liberty City. There wasn't much interest shown in the idea at the time but I think a similar format could work as a Role playing game similar to this one. I don't mean to jump in on what you guys have going on here but I think if you/we were to expand this a way it could work is that we start a new topic and have a number of gangs (maybe 6-8 max) each with a boss i.e a Pakhan, a Don or a Leader who gives out jobs to his underlings (who would be forum members who sign up to the various gangs). Where it would differ most from BUYG aside from jobs being assigned is that there would be no "staff" who rate the stories, the individual bosses would just make a general comment on the job like Mati has been doing here. There would also be no standardised money system, the boss would just pay the gang members according to the job (within reason). If you guys decide to go for this you wouldn't have to start afresh either (unless you want to) as money and ranks could be carried over. What do ya think??

That's not a bad idea MOB, I'm too lazy to do things like new jobs myself. So maybe we should do this icon14.gif

Sounds quite better if you ask me. Well, you got my vote.

But I would start over with a new character, I wouldn't like to be the Pakhan anymore.

So no ranks, just a boss and underlings? I think the whole complicated scheme of soldiers and capos and underbosses was a little too much to pull off anyways. We have to trade in some realism for practicality so more people will be interested in participating in this. Once we get a good amount of people on-board, maybe then we will have a better time with a money system and tribute and all that. I think the money system and a shop for tools in-game would make this a lot of fun, though. The pay for each job should be scaling depending on what the boss thinks is reasonable. If someone is out of line or moving around more money than is reasonably fair then we demote them as leader of the gang.

Now, would the gangs be preset to match the in-game gangs in Liberty City? We could have general gangs based on ethnicity/affiliation like the Italian Mob, Russian Mob, Irish Mob, Jamaicans, Bikers, etc.. Players making up their own gangs could get kind of hairy. What about gangs interacting with one another? We could figure out some sort of system where the gangs can profit off of each other by giving them each different perks. If we ever managed to achieve some sort of market economy where the gangs were exchanging drugs and guns and services then I'd really be impressed.

I agree that people making up their own gangs could get very messy so best just to stick to the ones in the GTA IV canon. I would say the Gangs should be based either on general ethnicity (Jamaicans/Yardies, Triads etc.) or which gang of a certain ethnicity is most dominent. i.e The Petrovic Family rather the Faustin/Rascalov family and The Spanish lords rather than the ND3 or the Torres gang (although they are technically different ethnicities but all hispanic). I think the Pegorino Family could be a better option than simply just "Italians" though since the Family is quite small so there is room for expansion and moving up in the underworld. I'm not really sure how we could catagorize The African American gangs.. maybe just use the M.O.B since they seem to be the biggest. I also don't think "Bikers" would work since The Lost and the AOD are sworn Enemies.

I think a good option would also be to have certain "enemy gangs" that aren't in use too in order to give a greater variety of people to work against and avoid a situation where forum member's gangs are just constantly attacking one another and have it be a game about getting ahead by attacking traditionally powerful gangs such as The Five Families for example rather than getting ahead by preventing others within the game from doing so. Another aim would ideally be that gangs actually help one another by striking up partnerships and making deals e.g. "We'll trade you 2 kilos of coke for a cache of weapons" etc.

I do think it would be a good idea to retain ranks however, although people should be promoted a lot more infrequently than people have been ranking up here. Maybe certain gangs could promote their members quicker than others depending on size or based on real world influences and things. This wouldn't technically include ranks like "Hitman" though since that's really just the same as soldier but assigned based on a certain specialty. I just feel a ranking system would give people something to aspire to and give them a sense of acheivement so that they feel like they're not wasting their time by writing. Although I get what you mean about Capos being messy since they have their own crews.

Also do you guys think that Freelancing (having certain members with no particular affiliation) could be a good idea or would it be too messy??

Freelancers would be way too messy IMO, this should stay a crime simulator. Oh and no more FBI agents!
