We still need a mayor or some sort of governing body.

No we don't, things like those just cause problems for everyone. However we could put together some sort of "City Council" which would be made up of contributing members of the in-game community which can all agree on laws and others things that could possibly be passed. Instead of one possible totalitarian dictatorship which mayors always end up being. More so a dummy democracy complied of the people not a single entity who is generally biased. If there are any problems or concerns it can be taken upon the Council to vote upon and or discus. Doing something like this would also give us a chance to make-up our own bill of rights and constitution not to mention legal/justice system that can be devised to be fair for all.

 

 

EDIT: I vote if we go for what I have suggested that the Museum should be removed from the property list of a business that you can buy and turned into a City Hall in which is a neutral ground no matter what. Meaning that no violence, weapons, murders, or fights can happen. Once you step foot onto that property we are all civilized and all anger and aggression that some may have for one another is to go away for the time being.

Alright. But we would need one member who is absolutely, positively bound to one ingame faction to avoid corruption and overpowering the rest of the council. That would mean one person from Carva and my inner circle, one of you or Pazzo or Jungle, and one member of the police force with no known ties to either of us. That way there's no muscling others out, or vetoing anything that goes against your interests. No money can be traded between politicians, and when you're in City Hall, you don't belong to any other institution but the city council. First vote would be on banning rockets, for example. Then you move on to robbery control, maybe. One thing I'm interested in is keeping a crime rate, and putting heads together to keep it down. Expanding on that, if you could draw a crime map of the most violent districts, you could keep the city safer and cut down on lolkilling. That would be the ultimate goal.

Let's not divide ourselves in "inner circles" I say 5 members are to be appointed by other members for the council, I will be the Speaker of the Council and organize the debates, D0N will help out as well as K1CK ASS who'll most likely also be part of staff, regulations can be passed with 3 votes from council members and could possibly be vetoed by an unanimous vote from the RP staff, however when a bill/law/regulation is passed with 5 votes from the Council it cannot be overturned, everyone OK with that?

Right. If there's a council, it has to be completely fair. But the way to do that is to avoid electing multiple people who work in tandem. That's how future votes on city matters get rigged.

Anyways, I say we start this baby tonight... I'll put up the OP, except it has no layout so far, so it's raw and until we get headers it'll look like sh*t, but just for reference really. Tonight we should focus more on the main laws, city hall was actually the Shyster, Ligner office building, We have to find a way to make all voting anonymous without having to make a private forum to make polls and sh*t.

Ok, I feel I have to set a few rules straight since people don't really seem to understand them despite them being defined early on.

 

Revenge Kill: A revenge kill, is contrary to popular opinion, the act of shooting a person you have beef with after your CHARACTER is dead. Shooting somebody who screwed with you earlier in the game is fine. I don't know how anyone could get this mixed up at this point.

 

Lolkill: Killing someone just for the fun of it. If Jungle, a judge, a white collar citizen of the city shoots me in the head for...being in his courtroom, and I kill him back? That's not a lolkill. Lolkill would be running around with rockets like we saw a lot of people do last month.

 

Corruption: Corruption is fine when it's in character, as a cop or a politician. But as a banker, you're not allowed to take money out of someone's account and put it in yours just because that person made you mad. That is wrong on so many levels and I think at least Don could back me up on that.

The fact is, after day 3 or so of the roleplay, somebody HAD to step up as leader. Jungle and Don were there. I'm open about my criticisms towards them. I sometimes have as many as you. But regardless of who made the topic, you have to respect that they at least deserve equal authority. Eventually it's become true that you made the topic, they ran the roleplay right?
