1st gtaROCKER
Your First Post This is the thread to post your best memory, your first post. No matter how noobish, how inaccurate, how spam-ish or how clever and witty, you can post it here. Everyone has a first post to cherish, but you can share it here. This is mine: If children are ever let into GTA, it would be the end for the GTA franchise. I don't view shooting a child in the head on GTA sick. I wouldn't do it, but all I see it as is a game. It's not like you went out to the street and shot a three-year old dead, is it? But the media would see it very differently. But maybe a few rats to blow up won't hurt?! trip
I'll play along. Here is my first post - grammar and spelling mistakes and all. 2Cents:-The 2 main guys/core of Rockstar are in it for the fame and fortune according to an article I read the other month in one of those old fashined style print mags . PC being another source of revenue only makes sense. -Aside from the Sony exclusive rights to the title for the first months, another theory I have read about the delay for PC releases has to do with software piracy. That might have been true 2 or 3 years ago, but in today's time console games are pirated just as fast and easy as pc games. With that though I might tend to think that the money loving guys at rockstar will have no choice but do a PC release since they might lose revenue to console pirated copies out of the gate. my menory is shot but wast there a delay on the news for if SA was going to be avail for PC? the trailers look freakin great and it pains me to think that i have to wait atleast another year...but all in all i am willing to bet that it does come out for PC. Xboxless
Here is mine... I think If they are going to have seasons, they need to do what where it happens after so many days and not just after the first five missions it becomes fall. Like in "Bully" only after you did a certain mission did it finally become winter. Maybe they should syncronize the months and days so when it starts pushing late november in real life, it starts snowing and on thanksgiving you should see all the peds maybe eating chicken legs all over the place. I hated the fact that in bully you could only experience the seasons once. so I don't know they should do that. oh and someone probably mentioned this already but of course reading like 500 posts is a bit much. Also, I looked at it, it is on October 10, the day I joined! It really isn't that bad, if it really is my first. WAIT A SECOND TRIPMILL!! Did we join on the same date!!!!!!! ska
I personally think they should just leave it. Rockstar, as they've done with all of the previous Grand Theft Auto titles, tend to change vehicle physics per every new release. Vice City's dynamics were different than III, and San Andrea's dynamics were different than Vice's. What do you guys think? Should/will Rockstar change V's driving dynamics from IV, or should they stay the same? Personally, I loved IV's vehicle physics. You weren't able to speed through corners and actually had to break quite often. I never did get why people often complained about IV's driving feel. I always thought it was a lot more realistic. Perhaps this time around, they'll improve on their system to get even better handling and feel. Thoughts? My first and second post, the second being the first thread I made. So interesting seeing those, would've imagined myself being a total n00b or something.

GTA_stu
Regarding the location (at least I wasn't noob enough to make my own topic for this) My best bet is it will be set in Vice City, but i hope it won't be. A fresh location would be better i think, maybe Chicago could be a good location, I'm happy with any large American city that hasn't been used yet. I think personally it would be a bad choice to go outside of the the US. R* are so good at getting the vibe and feel of a city spot on and the humour element too. I think if they go to a different country it will be a lot harder to pull all of those things off, except for maybe the UK which isn't that different. Scintillating stuff there. Typhus
- Serial killer who lives in a block of flats. His door looks normal but shooting it opens the room to you. Inside are pictures are dead pedestrians and a song playing softly over the radio. If you go in there at a certain time, say 03:00, he will come screaming out of the bathroom, naked and holding a cleaver. He drives an old Glendale and upon opening the trunk Niko will find an open dufflebag full of human heads. Allowing him to live will have no negative effects but you may be targeted whilst walking around at night. Killing him gives you a cash reward from the police and gets you a mention on the radio. - Hints as to who killed all our beloved characters. Cipriani, Claude and Vercetti are pretty much dead and it'd be cool to find out just how it happened. - MYTHS! MYTHS! MYTHS! I want lots of discussion, enough to go on for years. UFO's, Piggsy, Ghosts, Blue Hell. Such speculation is absolutely superb and makes us all like the game just a little more. Every big city has the token nutcase. Liberty City should have a few of these nutcases. Serial Killers, kidnappers and arsonists. Hell, Niko should even be given a pack of playing cards with their faces on them so if ever you casually pass them on the street you can kill them then and there and collect a hefty reward. It'd be like the vigilante missions but without any time constraints and always on. The targets would just be going about their lives, they'd even have homes, but it'd be your job to pick out these 10 or so nutters in one huge, dangerous city. I think that'd be a little better than all the nonsense you have to go through in the current vigilante missions. I mean, why do you even need a time limit? It doesn't make it challenging, it just annoys the player. A challenge comes from being out of your depth and having to improvise to survive. And what's more challenging than being chased down the street by a naked lunatic singing Paul Anka songs? Just to go back to my point about Myths I have discovered for myself a particular American urban legend that Rockstar could draw inspiration from. Ever heard of the Bunnyman? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bunnyman For those who can't be bothered to follow the link the story basically concerns an escaped mental patient who used to leave dead rabbits hanging from trees and then moved on to gutting people and hanging from a bridge which survives to this day. It's said that he met his end after jumping in front of a train but his spirit still haunts the area during Halloween. In any case, I can imagine this kind of thing driving people to explore Liberty City in the same manner they did with San Andreas. Myths, urban legends and the like are all ways to make this game last longer in our minds. And also, I found this cool documentary on the whole Bunnyman myth. See what you think: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=D-54cB...page=1&t=t&f=b There's also the case of the Vanishing Hitchhiker. A seemingly normal hitchhiker who once inside your car vanishes without any explaination whatsoever. Spooky.
Spaghetti Cat
Nice one Typhus From the Liberty Cities Craziest Police Chases thread HelloThe most memorable chase for me was notable more for what I couldn't do rather than what I could do. I had just bought the game on release day, did the first mission with Roman, and saved the game for the first time. Niko wakes up and walks outside. "Hot dogs, half price" yelled the vendor on a sunny day in Hove Beach. I pay him a visit and am on my way in Liberty City. Mind you I am amazed at the game I have waited so long for when... Boom A Cavalcade nearly kills me as I pass through the crosswalk. The guy jumps out as I am getting up, so I figure...why not? I jack his ride, but wait, I am sill used to the classic controls an the SUV doesn't move. The guy throws me out of his ride (in film-like fashion) and starts to pick a fight. This all happens right in-front of the Hove Beach police station. Now I have a wanted level, an angry ped, and no car. I take off running in the direction of Roman's cab depo. I take a left turn down one of the alleyways and try to hide. But no! Mr. SUV driver has different plans, never mind he ran me over; oh-no it's on. He starts beating me down like a prize-fighter. I try to fight back but end up running away to stay alive . "Hey get back here" yells the overweight cop. As I am running down the sidewalk I am thinking to myself: Don't get busted, don't get killed, you have only done one mission! In what to amounts to an extreme case of good fortune I made my way back south and lost Mike Tyson, but the fuzz were still hot on my trail. I ran down another alleyway but I could hear the sirens closing in around me. When I come out of the alleyway I am encircled by cops. I jump over the handrail and end up on Bart street (the one the runs under Iroquios Ave.). Infront of me is a line of cars in both direction. I seize on the nearest taxi, throwing the driver to the curb. A cop comes from behind me and all of my San Andreas memories come back. The driving instinct comes back as I throw the taxi in reverse... Pop Pop Pop Running over Officer Friendly nets me 2 stars now. The narrow road is blocked on both sides and the boys in blue are advancing, putting holes through the frame and cracking the windows. Pure American muscle, don't fail me now! The peddle hits the floor and the yellow taxi rumbles down the road, bouncing off cars the whole time. I hear the crack of 9mm fire as my taxi runs the police gauntlet. Now remember, just got the game, this is in-between the first and second missions. I have no gun, no ammo, no vest and no clue. Well almost no clue. I remembered from one of the previews about the police circle and trying to escape the flashing lights. Just hope the two other cops I ran over doesn't increase the circle. My battered taxi speeds down Mohawk Ave. on the way to the carnival. I turn left and right in a haze of action. My trusty taxi makes it near one of the carnival rides when the 5-0 give up looking for me. I get out of the cab, which is smoking and near collapse, and make my way down the boardwalk. I look at my health and it is flashing red. To my luck, what do I hear? "Who wants to eat my sausage?" Thank you hot dog vendor guy! So to recap: No weapon No armor. No hints. First time playing. Escaped the po-po So remember if the police have you down, just haul a$$ BTW: First time poster, long time lurker I was lurking way back before IV came out. I remember the site had just as little info at the time, even had a similar page to the V info page, which is kinda funny how things come full circle. Then i joined and posted this (jan 31st 2010) *facepalm* Most people at the start f the game do the save glitch for gang wars (if they are trying to complete it without cheats). But has anyone else notice when you are in a gang war kill the enemies and they are absolutely covered in cash. Just a tip i would like to point out. It was some time before i posted again.

fireguy109
Pretty nice first post Spagetti. Mine was so bad I edited it out a few months later. I did a lot of bumping in my first-post days... EDIT here's my second post. My first topic so bear with me, I'm just a noob. I want to know what everyone wants to see in the next GTa game, but let's try to keep from debating San Andreas vs IV, please. Personally, I have 5 main categories. 1. Vehicles- customization like a racing game, and the ability to purchase them. They wouldm't disappear if you went out of sight of them, they would stay for 4 in-game hours. We'd want boats, helicopters, and planes. It would be awesome to have dogfights with police and military aircraft.... Vehicles would get bullet holes in them like Mafia 2. Boats could sink if the holes in the hull were big enough. 2. Peds- they would be smarter and more diverse. They could actually defend themselves and had to call the cops on a cell phone to alert of a crime, giving you time to exterminate them. Fistfights would be left alone by cops until somebody went down, at which point they would break it up. Some would carry concealed weapons, and a random pattern would determine fighting ability, not "everyone in red kicks ass." Vehicles would be more patient and obey the traffic laws. If you hit them they would pull over. Either you went up to them and paid 50 bucks or they would call the cops, giving you a 2-star. There would be rush hours, street vendors, and people entering buildings to work. 3. Public Service- the cops shouldn't run in suicidal unless you enable a cheat. They would take cover and call for backup. You would always have the option of surrender. If you hit them in a car they would stop, and if you didn't stop they would call for backup, staying with their own cars. All wrecks should stay for 2 in-game hours. The paramedics would put dead people in body bags. The firefighters would direct traffic if you wrecked, and put out the fires. You would be able to set a building on fire with an RPG, and relax as they put it out. There would be people picking up trash in the streets, etc. 4. Setting and Character- I would want an island location, tropical, with modern and old-fashioned sections of town, 3 major cities and a couple of small towns, and some nearby islands with easter eggs like Just Cause 2. I never liked the limitation on leaving the area, so it could be set in a military state or something and you would be shot at if you tried to leave, like Mercenaries. There would be cruise ships and gambling boats you could swim out to and rob . There would be limited seasons, with a cycling period of tourist traffic vs quiet time and some weather changes. There would be a rule where the character could swim in water twenty feet or deeper, except in cutscenes. You could get a mercenary-type mission set from a crooked general. Wouldn't it be cool to be given a submarine and told to go nuts on an aircraft carrier? The time frame could be in the months after 9/11. This would explain shooting you when you leave the island- panicked military leaders. There would be no real politics involved, no children in the streets, and limited animal usage. There would be stray dogs. In the worse neighborhoods, there would be stray dogs that would attack you. You would fight them off Call of Duty style. 5. Realism- this is the most debated concept. I would want a gas tank that could be turned on and off in the options menu. There would be semi-honest jobs, like "bodyguard" or "taxi driver", but they wouldn't interfere with gameplay. The cops could care less about traffic violations except running people off the road, ramming people, and hit and run. The physics would be realistic unless you turned on the Stuntman cheat, in which you could go nuts. Mostly common weapons, wilth a few oddities like a flamethrower and a katana. There would be costumes you could buy and change . You could buy or steal cars, and buy houses or just lie down in a doorway and save. The PC version would have an options file in the program files with realism options. Edited July 3, 2011 by fireguy109
