GTA IV is also GPU intensive so that's why it laggs even on new PCs with Draw Distance set to 100.

amazing work.. but please make atleast some of the locations enterable.. (like player home, restaurants, airport, gasinos, police stations, hosbitals, shops etc.)

 

and if it's not too much to ask, please add a revolver... gta 3 was in the 90s afterall.. thanks.. biggrin.gif

Looks good, has Pearcy/Solom re-modeled any of the interiors? Do they have MLO's?

Nice, but dirt, slight discoloration on some buldings should be added *mostly on white buildings or brick buildings

What's with the monorail?

Might just be me but if common sense kicked in one would very well assume that to actually be the overhead subway tracks and the parallel boards for it didn't load.

why must be gta 3 atmosphere, after all this is hd mod, this atmosphere is better, but the sky would be better if it has clouds

Not really... GTA 3 has a unique atmosphere. If you don't have the timecyc, you have Liberty City, that's all. Not GTA 3 Liberty City.

you've got a point, but since this is HD, it would be better to have Realistic timecyc, gta 3' one is more like cartoonish, i say this timecyc is better

I respect your opinion, but you do know that the timecyc changes the colors of the whole game right? It's like a colored pair of glasses, it changes how the whole city looks, that is why people care. smile.gif

Yes, Frank.s, I know what timecyc does. I do not recover such talking about it a couple of years ago, especially before IV came out. And now it's just madness. I don't think of it as the most important part of any mod, and don't understand why tons of hours should be put into this tiny minor thing.

Imagine if a whole city was painted blue, that doesn't seem like a minor thing, right? That's why people care about the timecyc, because it sets the color of the entire city, it sets the colors that the player sees all the time while playing. orly.gif

 

@Everyone, am i the only one with this opinion? I think Blaster is the only other person i've seen that has a similar opinion about timecyc.

Exactly, if you think tiimecyc isn't important, you're terribly wrong because it sets the vibe and tone of the area you're looking at while playing, it's just right at the top when it comes to the most important elements in what you're trying to depict with your project wink.gif

Yeah, okay, you're all smart and stuff. But I look at the screens with "the wrong timecyc" (OMFG we will all die), and don't get the difference. Yeah, the colours are different, a bit, but whatever confused.gif

That's not what it is about, the ideal situation is to make a HQ version of the original timecyc, that isn't anywhere to be seen on the screens.

I get your point, but I don't see it as an absolute neccesity. That's what my point is.

You don't understand that a bad timecyc = bad atmosphere. And a bad atmosphere can ruin all the mod, even if it's an amazing one.

The only explanation to the timecyc paranoia I can give is that editing timecyc is easier than doing more important things (paths, converting models, scripting, even texturing), and it gives you a result when you change one sh*tty number in the file. And then "Whoa look cool atmosphere" whatever, with little effort to it (compared to other things in the mod, when you edit the files for days and all it gives is a non-glitched model or whatever example insert here).

The mods weren't so lazy 5 years back then, and don't tell me I'm complaining - browse through the old sections of the forum, read for yourself, if you don't believe me.

ENB ruined the SA atmosphere, not timecyc. Although, 181k views, 504\30 (dis)likes, so I guess people are amazed either way.

Many ENB sets fail on TC because of bad timecyc. If you have a good timecyc so ENB is good. It's all about the timecyc.
