chris
I read recently that the best things to drink after a night out on the ale is sports drinks like lucozade, powerade, gatorade etc, maybe you could try that?

blitz
The greasy burger might get you puking, so just tale it easy an you should be fine. But that greasy burger is comfort food. And when hungover, it is nice to have a tried and true friend pat you on the head and tell you "everything is going to be alright" Different things work for different people, I guess but in a way I agree with you; comfort food, and nothing beats it after a wild drinking night. Clem Fandango
Drink water and smoke ganja. I don't drink though. This is actually the only way to feel alright after a hangover, in my experience.

uNi
I seem to be one of the lucky few who don't get hangovers. I'm not an overly heavy drinker myself, but on the few times I've gotten drunk, I just go to bed at some point, not remembering when, and wake up the next morning feeling surprisingly well rested. Sorry I can't lend you any tips. You ain't drinking enough!

Sorry I can't lend you any tips. You ain't drinking enough! Agreed. I got drunk last night for Canada Day and I woke up today with a very mild hangover which I wasn't complaining about considering how much I drank. No headache or nausea, but just that general feeling that you're not 100%. The worst hangovers are when you're really sensitive to light and can barely look at a lightbulb, much less the Sun. A good way, I've found, to help reduce the effect of a hangover the next day is drinking water after every few drinks.
WHAT!?
A good way, I've found, to help reduce the effect of a hangover the next day is drinking water after every few drinks. It's true. The more hydrated you are the less hungover you are likely to be. Also stay away from mixed drinks, the sugar in 'em gets ya. Just drink whatever straight. If you can't do that then stick to beer. As far as waking up with a hangover... doesn't happen to me often. When it does, a combination of bread, water, and puking usually has me fixed up within an hour or so. Once I start to feel like I am coming around I just keep moving doing whatever keeps me occupied.
Icarus
puking I remember a few months ago I got completely wrecked for my birthday. I was drinking beer, scotch, hi-balls that were being purchased for me - the whole load. The next day hit me hard, especially when the Sun was glaring in my room as I had forgot to the put the blinds down and that day, I was super sensitive to light. I remember I woke up and drank some water and then I went to lie down on my bed and I had that feeling I was going to puke. About 20 minutes passed and I had that pre-vomit burp that signaled what was coming next, so I ran out to the kitchen and found the garbage can and starting puking my guts out. After that, I felt excellent and carried on with my day.
Rhoda
I find lying around in my underpants feeling sorry for myself and cuddling the toilet at regular intervals makes me feel better. Eventually. My tolerance is shockingly low lately, though.
Aussiebushmatt
Last weekend I felt pretty brutal when I woke up after a drinking night and had half a tube of Sour Cream and Onion Pringles and a couple of J2Os to try and ease the hangover pain before drinking an entire jug full of water. By the time someone randomly cooked up some pizzas by midday, I was feeling fine and dandy!
Straznicy
Weed kills hangovers stone dead for me, or at the least numbs it if it's a particularly bad one. You're quite slouchy and lazy for the rest of the day, but I'd rather that than misery. A nice grilled cheese or two also helps I find, but it has to be well done. Prevention's better than a cure though. Make the effort to have a sandwich and lots of water before dozing off and you'll be doing yourself a big favour. rhyn
A pint of water or a bottle of Irn Bru before bed, then another pint and a nap when you wake up and you should be fine. Greasy food and exercise works wonders too. SRS Incorporated

I've never had them while I was drinking in the sense that during heavy drinking, if I puked, I never felt better afterwards; the only times I've puked while doing heavy drinking, I stopped drinking at that point because I felt like death, especially since hard liquor coming back up not long after it has been taken in burns like hell. I've been to parties with some of my friends when they'll be about 12 beer in, puke, stop for a moment and continue drinking, so I guess they have better luck with the magic pukes.
