Moonshield
I shall honor them by eating more canadian bacon Oddly enough, it's very hard to find Canadian Bacon around here. I always thought Canadian bacon was just ham? It's technically back bacon, but sold in the US as Canadian bacon so people don't confuse it with streaky or belly bacon, which is just referred to as bacon. It's leaner than 'American-style' bacon, and from the loin, so that's why it tastes more like regular ham.
Voodoo
Wouldn't all bacon produced and sold in Canada be considered Canadian bacon?

GTA_stu
I'm sure all the original Canadian colonisers would be so proud right now to have a topic supposed to be about celebrating the birth of Canada descend into a discussion about bacon.
Typhus
Canada is one of our greatest children. I'm proud of my countries warm relationship with Canada and wish the country every future prosperity. An awful lot of people I know would love to live in Canada. I don't quite grasp why that is, but it must be nice to be the envy of so many people. Icarus
but I'm sure there will be a 4th of July topic so why not right? The difference is, after we fought for and won our independence, we didn't submit to the monarchy ever again. We have been legally independent from the United Kingdom since April 17, 1982 with the passing of the Canada Act in the United Kingdom and the passage of the Constitution Act in Canada. Before that, any changes we wanted to make to our Constitution and such, it had to be approved not only by the Parliament of Canada, but by the Parliament of the United Kingdom. So I guess our true independence should be April 17 (then again, Canada Day celebrates the creation of Canada, not the independence). </boring history lesson> But yeah, Happy Canada Day to all! Canada rules!
