d00d
Okay so when it starts up, what happens? Sounds? Lights? More importantly, you say you "barely got it to start". Whats that about?
Sam998
Maybe this is a charger problem like I had?

d00d
Well okay, what were the 2 hours of boot options about? What were you changing? What were the error messages? You have to take into account all I know is what you tell me. And so far all you've told me is you have a broken laptop that you can't fix. d00d
Okay - take the battery out and disconnect the charger, and hold down the power button for 10 seconds. Once you've done this, connect the charger only and then try and power it back on and post back with results.

d00d
Its a Dell Inspiron, so on the charger it should have a block about halfway. Plug the charger in, does the light come on, on the block? Also, when you plug it into the laptop does the charging light come on? (I think on the 1545 its next to the charging pin in the laptop, a small white/blue LED). d00d
Okay...that doesn't really answer what I was asking though.
Finn 7 five 11
Okay...that doesn't really answer what I was asking though. Your making it really darn hard for us to help you, when the problem happens again maybe you won't need to make another thread, so how about you answer Dood now, and we can solve what the issue was. d00d
Whenever it has problems turning on, check that you have battery power and check that it's charging. It appears to be hardware so I'd have it checked out by someone.

d00d
Or it's hardware that's shorting out which accounts for the unstable power and what is probably your CMOS battery shorting, resetting your time and other BIOS settings that aren't default.
