d00d
You mean there's a file on your memory card that if you try to interact with, your computer crashes? Have you been able to use it in anyone elses' computer?

d00d
Then I'm leaning more to the cause being the memory card bay on your PC. Can you use other memory cards okay in the PC?

d00d
Okay . Looks like a corruption or virus, but like you said it crashes. Run a chkdsk on the volume and see if you get any results afterwards. For good measure, also run a full virus scan on your PC.

Step Four: Run the chkdsk utility by typing in the following command: chkdsk c: What i get:Access Denied as you do not have suficient privileges. You have to invoke this utility running in elevated mode. Fix'd!! Edited July 1, 2011 by pauliux2
d00d
Okay, forget the virus scan. Run the chkdsk and install/run a registry scan from CCleaner, remember to backup your changes. I have no idea where those extra drives are coming from, I assume you haven't got 5+ Blu-Ray drives. Edit: Don't run a chkdsk on C: , run it on whatever volume label the memory card has. So I think in your case its J: , but make sure yourself.

d00d
Okay, well thats one symptom gone. Does that account for all of the extra drives? Now when you ran the chkdsk, did you run it on c: ? If so, you need to do it again but on the card volume, as c: is the system Windows is on.

d00d
Okay well it might not be J. Could you try to find out which one it is, ie: plug in your memory card, go to My Computer, and click on whatever drive you would normally click to get into it. Look for the letter next to the label for it, and run a chkdsk on that.

d00d
Could do more testing but I think its almost certain that your memory card bay is faulty. To confirm try it out in someone elses' laptop or PC, but as it works fine in your camera and your media bay is doing allsorts it looks like the culprit.
