GTAIndonesia
Since GTA IV Liberty City is different then GTA III's one (which have hills and offroad lands) and theIV's one does not have tropical or natural place , will GTA V have Tropical and Nature place like in GTA SA? Just Cause is one example of a tropical map GTA SA's Countriside, mount chilliad Tropical Place: Most place are mountains, farms, jungles and there will be a small Commercial District in one place. The pedestrians are old guys old clothes farmers ....others Commercial City:Tall Buildings, Train Stations big airports and most of the map is a commerxial place what do you think? kmlwin.1996
It depends on game developers. Most GTA maps are cities. Only San Andreas have tropical place. So my guess is 75% sure it will be commercial place with no tropical places. Edited July 1, 2011 by kmlwin.1996
Seachmall
The country side in SA was too big, it didn't really add anything to the game. I hope the next GTA doesn't have a countryside or if it does it's a small one, just a waste of space imo.
TheMarinov
The country side in SA added tons to the game, IMO. The fact that you could go from a 'gangsta' in East Los Santos, to a big hot shot Hollywood star in west Lost Santos, to hillbillies and farmers in the country side, to the triads in San Fierro, to some crazy conspiracist guy in the desert to washed up rappers trying to commit suicide... There was so much variety and it made it feel authentic, the country side helped diversify all of that and added its own batch of characters.. I'd love to see San Andreas back in V

Darecki
I think the same as jaysteels - big map with some countryside/desert would be great
GTA_stu
I think some people are getting a little bit confused between "tropical" and "countryside". Tropical refers to the entire region surrounding the equator between the tropics. Countryside is just any rural area in the world of any climate of any terrain which is not urbanised. This includes farms, plains, forests, jungles and even smaller towns or villages where there is no large scale urbanisation. Vice City is the only tropical GTA location, yet it has no countryside. SA has countryside, but it is not tropical. I would personally love to see more countryside in the next GTA. It makes the game feel more diverse and interesting and there are a wider variety of things to do.
Algonquin Assassin
I would only like countryside. Desert would only make sense if LV came back, but generally I find countryside more interesting. After RDR I think a countryside where it doesn't feel like a lifeless wasteland (SA) would be more than possible. Plus it would look amazing. It might even give R* an excuse to add animals. DS 17
Animals + Lakes and HD Trees, leaves, V map will be awesome. I am a guy who love countryside in GTA V. Me, too. There doesn't have to be a tropical area, because it wouldn't fit to US cities. Only if the next GTA is located in Miami a tropical area will make sense. Hey, let's drive in the Everglades and get rid of some ppl there. But landscape is really a must-have. I missed it so much in IV. That's why I played in IV only the story and some hours in the city but haven't done anything else. In a countryside can make the story very diversified and it's something different to the cities. Mince
Agreed, some countryside would be great. Right now we've had IV and L.A. Noire, two games which are almost entirely a city map, and Red Dead, which is mostly a rural/desert map. I hope the next GTA game can still provide a good city area, while giving us some countryside areas as well. A balance, like SA did nicely. And I think the OP meant rural/countryside areas when he said "tropical".
E-lasto
I really do think we're headig back to Vice, and this time, we'll have lots of the great out-doors to explore because.. We'll have a big thriving Miami based city, And a smaller, tropical island based off Colombia.

And maybe some gators and snakes in the water (doesn't FL have a problem with pythons in swamps now?)
cactus.
Tropical, with an urban side to it, would be a real breath of fresh air after GTA IV + EFLC. This is what makes Vice City plus the surrounding Caribbean islands such a desirable location for many fans including myself

I nostalgically loaded up SA on my XBox last night and got lost for a couple of hours! I only mange about 15 mins at a time in LC
20cent
I will admit... If R* were to make a whole new state (like SA) complete with desert and countryside...and make it as epic as RDR's landscape was... I'd play for hours! Tho I'm pushing for a tropical setting (vice city) or a whole brand new city we've never even heard of...I would still play the hell out of it...and truthfully I would see more DLC coming out of a GTA state
Columbo
The more countryside the better I say. IV's map was just buildings everywhere. I honestly wouldn't mind if we got more countryside than city in GTA V.
