This is the second smartphone I've lost, and I know that this time I won't find it anywhere. Last time when I lost the same exact phone (Dec 2010) I was extremely pissed. I guessed someone stole it from my class because my phone was charging to the student computer in Advertising class while I was putting my head down (stupid move). Then when the bell rang to go home I realized it wasn't there, someone stole it and as a matter of fact I guessed the person who stole it and I got it right. I knew nobody else would steal my phone other than that white middle-class suburban drug dealer who sits next to me. I went on facebook and told him I'd pay him $100 to give my phone back, he said that his friend has it and not him. Truth is, he had no friends in that class so I already knew he stole it. I didn't bother filing a police report, I just gave him a date and time to go to his closest park and I tricked him. When I got there I saw his twin brother who looks just like him, he had a dog with him and I was staring at him while he was walking. It looked like he was running away so I literally got in the car and floored it, driving over the grass in an improper manner just to get my phone that was precious to me. Turned out it wasn't the person who stole my phone and like I said earlier it was his twin brother. I slammed on the brakes and said "HEY WHERE YOU GOING BUDDY? I WANT MY PHONE", he told me that he was his brother and not Brian (the guy who stole my phone) ,"I'm Tommy dude, I swear". I told myself "damn, he's now going to tell his brother I'm super mad about this and looked like I wanted to murder him". I didn't want to take chances so I went back to the park and once I parked my car I found the motherf*cker. I yelled at him because he looked like he was walking away and said the exact same thing I said earlier, he asked me why I was yelling and he was looking around to see if anyone was looking. Since I told him I'd give him $100, I had $2 in my pocket and folded it in a way where he wouldn't immediately find out it wasn't $100. He pulled the phone out and put it back in, so I said "sh*t, how am I going to take it from him now". The guy was just as skinny as me but I didn't want to fight him, so I gave him the money and I tried taking the phone from his hand but I tripped on the grass and almost fell in the lake. He said "this is only $2", I immediately threatened to call the county Sheriff outloud so I could embarrass him in front of joggers that were running on the sidewalk. As he was walking away from me my dad sneaked up and went up an inch to his face and said "give him the f*cking phone" in an accent that I've never seen, and in an attitude I've never seen in my life. So he gave my dad the phone and walked away, my dad was still cussing at him but I didn't care... I got my phone back! I told myself "Wow, I've never been so lucky in my life"! And 6 months later I'm attending summer school acceleration (I didn't fail anything, my parents want me to take an extra course) for Geometry, yesterday my phone probably fell out of my backpack. Until today after school I didn't bother searching for my phone before, I searched under the car seat of my car and everything and found nothing. Searched all over my house, nothing. So I lost my phone, and all that effort trying to get my phone back last time was f*cking wasted. Yes, I came to GTAForums just to announce that I lost my phone and I'm pissed off. It will find it via its GPS or 3G signals if the GPS is off. Also, you can remote lock it so nobody can access it, and even remove everything from it. Anyways I've never lost something like that but I did have 2 Ipod touches break from stupid sh*t. One being water damage and the other being some tard took a half court shot in gym class and the basketball slammed my ipod out of my hand and to the ground. Sounds like you don't use it enough or care about it enough to even need a smart phone. Go get a cheap flip phone for free. and get insurance on it. Oh and to TheCacti, I'm not a spoiled teenager and I doubt you've even sent any donations to people living in poverty within the last 3 months. Just like to point out that's a hell of a story you got there, just out of curiosity at what point did your dad arrive at the park? I went with him, he just got out of the car and he sneaked up until he was right in front of his face. At first I was going to go back to my car and drive over to the grass and then block the sidewalk so he couldn't escape (was that desperate for my phone), but my dad showed up. I actually kinda felt bad for the guy a little, but it's one of those things where a week later you tell yourself "I can't believe I felt bad for a person who f*cked me over". But when I got my phone back from him I was jumping up and down excited (not literally) that I got my phone back. I actually felt like the smartest guy in the world for the day since I made a smart guess it was him and knew how to trick him over $100 that turned out to be $2. And now, I don't have it anymore as of yesterday. Sucks to know but it's the truth. I actually got my phone taken up by the teacher yesterday because I was texting and nobody is allowed to do that in school, so at the end of class he gave it back. I probably put it in one of my backpack holes and then BAM, that was the last time I saw it. The hole's zipper is broken so it's technically open all the time, I was rushing to my car and that's when it probably fell out of my backpack when I was going down the stairs. Honestly I don't even know why I need to bring an expensive phone when they just get stolen and because of the school rules they're useless anyway. It was obviously my own fault, but it's the truth. Even with that problem, I haven't made a topic here, because I'm the type of person, that does not like to be pitied. Hell, I even got rid of my cheapo cell phone a couple months ago. If I need to talk to someone, I'll go see them, or use a pay phone/house phone. Maybe you shouldn't own a cell phone. You've obviously become too attached like so many others. Can you even imagine a day without being able to spout random sh*t to anyone you feel like through a text? Or without constantly checking your phone for messages? Can you go a month, without having a cell phone on you? If you can, then don't use it for a while. If you can't, then get rid of it. I'm thinking the latter, because you posted a topic about getting pissed that some thief stole your phone, and you wanted to kick his ass or even give him $100 for stealing it as some sort of ridiculous barter.
