willhub
Put it this way a 5770 won't be a huge upgrade from an 8800GT.

unc13bud
Put it this way a 5770 won't be a huge upgrade from an 8800GT. especially for GTA IV. but he said he bought it already (wanted regardless) edit: looks like the xfx 550w is a seasonic of some sort, so yeah http://www.overclock.net/power-supplies/678840-seasonic.html Edited July 7, 2011 by unc13bud
GregoryDelaey
I'm not using the 5770 for gta iv allone, I'm gonna play CoD and nfs with it too, and some other games. I could play gta IV with my 8800GT on medium settings, i had around 20-25fps. That's enough for me. I don't really care that it won't be a huge upgrade, the 8800 did the thing for me well enough. lnknprkfn
thx for the info!since i'm stuck with a mobo with a 775 socket, the best processor i'm able to install is a quad core, intel q series. thx for all the help, i hope the hd5770 will perform a bit better then my old 8800gt alpha dog. may he rest in peace yea good idea, im sure everything will have plenty of power for a upgrade to a quad and 6770, just make sure to check if you have a 6 pin power if not make sure you have two open perephial connectors and to throw a two perephial to 1 6pin PCI-E power if it has one on the card, some cards will come with it already so be sure to check whats included with the card. i myself only have a 650w and i have alot more going on then what a hp desktop will have, it should run everything pretty good though so best of luck, unlike everyones negativity ;]
GregoryDelaey
Thx, the card arrives tomorrow, but my friend has the same and it comes with 2x molex -> 6-pin, so it'll be no problem. I don't get all the negativity neither, if my old 8800gt ade combined with the dual core 2.5ghz could run gta 4, then the 5770 should perform at least the same. I'm already happy if it would perform the same, because the 8800gt did the job good (+-25fps).
