machewzer
Bringing a new view similar to the in-car view in need for speed shift. Would be great in gta.
1st gtaROCKER
I think that they may add it as a separate view, like cinematic view, close view, far view etc.
_GTAFREAK_
I think that they may add it as a separate view, like cinematic view, close view, far view etc. Nice idea.I always wanted to have this on a GTA... i really like this kind of view on the NFS Shift... i always drive with that view! NutsAndy
I'm hoping that they add an interior view along with detailed car interiors. I'm not after anything special on the interior detail, am I sitting in a Stallion or a Dukes? I would like to be able to see the difference. I think that there should also be an option for first person on foot too, it gets quite annoying having your view blocked by things when trying to look round a corner for enemies. I know the camera shortens its self to let you see a bit better but it gets annoying in interior fights where you are in stair wells and things... but at the same time the 3rd person comes in handy when you are in cover or are about to be arrested and you see that sneaky police officer running up behind you. I like some of the disorientation effects from NFS Shift, but I think they go a bit over the top. I haven't played the second version though
1st gtaROCKER
This 'in-car view' would tie in really well with a full in'car customization feature. I mean, being able to choose the leather or cloth, the colors of that, the sat-nav, the different types of seats, the color of seats, EVERYTHING, and be able to see the character sitting in it and driving in it. Anyway, that's not for this thread...

NutsAndy
I am okay with customising the interior, like upgrading speakers would use a different speaker model in the doors and parcel shelf, and a sub or two in the boot or even a SatNav in the dash but what I forgot to mention was that if they do an interior I would like to see them add the rear view and wing mirrors too, Lots of games use mirrors and they are helpful but every single game either just forgets or decides not to put the reflection of the car in them so they aren't very useful for precision reverse driving. _GTAFREAK_
My idea of a car customization improvement is something like this: We could be able to mod only some basic things in the interior of some cars... like that Loco Low low-rider garage back in San Andreas...we could bring some muscle cars in it, and make some kind of "West Coast Tuning", what you think huh? Add things like mod the car sound system, the seats color, the steering wheel... basically some SIMPLE interior customization If R* is thinking of something like this, then i would advice them to add an in-car view for sure! It wouldn't be worth spend time modding the interior's car if you weren't able to actually SEE it while you're in it...

JonMorocco
yea, that would be interesting. but anyway some asshole like Ryan or mati1501 are about to come by and lock this any minute now.
visionist
I've wanted this for years. The interiors should be damage-able too (panels coming loose, screens spazzing out, dials stop working, door cards cracked, controls illumination going out, leather torn, glovebox falling open, etc, etc, etc). The cinematic view can also toggle between unusual interior views eg; looking up your female passenger's skirt from the footwell, haha. Working dials can display your road and engine speeds, fuel level if fuelling is a feature, engine and oil temperatures to warn you when the car has caught fire, battery charge and oil pressure to warn you if the engine is about to konk out, working clock etc. A functional check panel can display info on busted exterior lights, doors and boot/trunklid ajar, exterior temperature etc... All to increase the immersion and authenticity of R*'s created cars. A few 80s cars could even have talking dashes, lol.
1st gtaROCKER
They will have to add a lot of detail to the interior for this to work. Wait, what's happened to the poll? There was a poll!

cactus.
I think a dashboard view would be a nice addition to the camera options, especially when driving. It doesn't necessarily require there to be a lot of interior detail, but something as simple as the steering wheel, dashboard, and speedometer (along with all the other meters) would suffice in my opinion. the nameless
I don't see why not - I would never use it, I only ever use a far angle on any car game, but as said, if you could see the details of your customisation, then that would be cool. I would rather they do actual customisation first though - sort out the good stuff, then see about little extras like this, but remember, GTA has never been about fine graphic detail, and driving simulation, so I would not too fussed either way. Magic_Al
Showing what console hardware can do in an open-world driving game, car interiors look pretty detailed in L.A. Noire, and mirrors actually work instead of being fuzzed out as in GTA IV, but they still don't give you a first-person driving view even though Team Bondi in its previous life as Team SoHo did include that option in The Getaway. However, Team Bondi missed some action details that Rockstar North gives us, like character animation when you honk the horn. Car interiors need enough detail for the camera angles used in cutscenes, but they need a LOT of detail if the dash is going to be in your face. A first person view is neat, but a third-person view is actually better for situational awareness, compensating for the lack of senses you have playing a video game as compared to actually driving a car. A first-person view needs to have the mirrors work and you need to be able to move your head position around blind spots.

A first person view is neat, but a third-person view is actually better for situational awareness... Cutscenes would use the "external" model while interiors viewed in 1st person would require an "internal" model where the invisible parts of the car don't need to be rendered. This type of internal modelling is standard practice in racing games. Drive in 3rd person view? I've only tried it a few times and I can't do it Personally I use 1st person view when driving in any game (to the extent where I ditch driving segments that don't allow 1PV), I'd love to see better interiors in the cars. I'm not sure working mirrors are SO necessary, a quick "look back" is second nature to most players anyway. It would becool though...
SchizNitz
a cockpit view would be good but it shouldn't be one of the main priorities for GTA.
Darkshade12
A detailed cockpit view with fully working mirrors would be amazing! I love cruising and this would make it awesome.
Untame Snail
If they do, it would be cool if the GPS goes away in some cars that actually have one which you have to look down to see.
