Lithium
How's your weight loss going Lithium? You were doing pretty good IIRC. I've managed to keep about 20 lbs off from what I originally started at. I'm still eating generally healthy, but fast food is my weakness. If I didn't work out I'd probably be about 400 lbs, lol. Fair enough mate. I've managed to drop 85lbs from September but haven't lost any weight throughout June, I'm still about 50-60lbs off my target and so going a month without losing any weight is a bit irritating. Wow that's awesome!! I wish my body was made for losing fat, but I seem to have a better chance of building muscle if anything (which obviously increases my weight). I don't even think I would want to lose that much weight. At this point I would be happy with 50 or 60 lbs. That would put me down to the 240 range. chris
I hate going to gyms, so I don't. All I need is a few weights and gravity to get the job done. Besides, I often like to smoke weed during my routine and gym culture doesn't take too kindly to that. I've found a nice little workout that I practice in waves throughout the year. Ironically enough, I've had a few work out buddies that would smoke weed before working out. I don't know why, but it seems like weed and bodybuilding/weight lifting go hand in hand. I've never tried it before, so I don't know what it's all about (smoking weed before training I mean). A mate of mine has a weights bench in his room so i've benchpressed a couple of times whilst high and it's not really much different tbh, if it were me i'd do the workout first and have a joint afterwards, use it as a reward to add motivation to my workout. I've been the gym 3 times in my life and didn't that particular gym and stopped going, i'm 6'1 and around 165lbs so i'm quite toned thanks to my big appetite and physically demanding job. I keep saying i'm going to start working out and i never bloody do! I just get home from work and end up having some food and a joint.

What's your deficit like and how often do you weigh yourself in? I'm just curious how other people do it. 85 lbs is pretty impressive, even if it is over the span of 10 months. Very healthy. Fantastic stuff. I'm just glad I'm naturally repulsed by the junk that passes for "fast food" and soft drinks. Hell, if it weren't for that I would've started losing weight at 185 kg instead of 85 kg. My weakness is real food, and I had no problem cutting that. Just don't eat. It's not harder than that. I got to a point where I was disgusted with myself if I went over 1,500 calories in a day (not good, took me a long time to get rid of that) and forced myself to do a few extra kilometers on the bike. Like I said, I lost a good deal of muscle but it feels great to have that extra fat gone. I'd definitely do it again. I remember someone else on the boards (gtaivpc I think?) was dieting on 800 kcal/day. That's insane. I'd love to hear how he's done.

A J
I'm always doing physical work on the farm, so not much need for visits to the gym. Always had a huge appetite too, but always managed to work it off, my favourite form of exercise is cycling too, and I also hate gyms, girlfriend is a huge fitness freak, so I've been a few times, can't stand it though. Walking dogs and training them is also a great form of keeping shape I think.
Kwandilibro
Damn, I need to lose weight. I weigh 220 and I'm only 5'7" or 5'8". I really let myself go since 7th grade. But my dad agreed to give me $200 if I can lose 20 lbs over the summer. I hope P90X works.

Not sure how much muscle you have, but that probably is a heavy weight for your age/height. 20 lbs would deff be a good weight loss, plus your dad is really giving you a good incentive! If you eat healthy (5-6 small meals a day) and do at least 30 minutes of cardio a day, I bet you'll lose 20 lbs in a month or so no problem. Yeah, I'm pretty heavy for my size, with not that much muscle to back it up. And losing weight wouldn't be so bad except for one thing: I'm lazy as sh*t. $200 is a nice deal, but honestly, I almost never feel like working out. Obviously that's not helping, but... However, the 5-6 meals a day idea sounds like a good idea. My dad wants me to go to the gym with him today, which I really don't feel like doing. But it's either that, or P90X, which I also don't want to do. f*ck.

Josh
Try the marine diet: Day 1 Breakfast - 3 eggs Lunch - 3 eggs Dinner - 3 eggs Day 2 Breakfast - 1 egg or grapefruit Lunch - Fresh fruit salad Dinner - Steak, Tomatoes, Celery and cottage cheese Day 3 Breakfast - 1 egg or grapefruit Lunch - Fish, Tomatoes, spinach and Salad Dinner - Lean Lamb chops, tomatoes and salad Day 4 Breakfast - 1 egg or grapefruit Lunch - Green salad and tomatoes Dinner - 3 eggs and dried toast Day 5 Breakfast - 1 egg or grapefruit Lunch - Fish, Tomatoes, and Salad Dinner - Lean ham salad, tomatoes and spinach Day 6 Breakfast - 1 egg or grapefruit Lunch - 3 eggs dried toast Dinner - Steak Celery, tomatoes and cottage cheese Day 7 Breakfast - 1 egg or grapefruit Lunch - Fresh fruit salad Dinner - Lean lamb chops salad and tomatoes Repeat again for week 2 Black coffee, water or pure lemon juice can be taken with the meal Eat exactly what is stated where amount are stated, where they are not eat as much as you want. DO NOT EAT BETWEEN MEALS No dressings or sauces only vinegar is allowed Do not carry out for more than 2 weeks, DO NOT use this diet more than four times a year. There should be a loss of up to 2 stones, variations of the die will have a MAJOR effect on the amount of weight you lose. And obviously do cardio and weights too. You should lose a huge amount of weight and your dad will pay out...
El Zilcho
I don't exercise near enough, but in double PE today I came ahead on most athletic field events, as well as beating this football player for a local team in the relay. It was great, I was cut out the inside and was unable to grab the baton when I should so on the last stretch I was behind this guy who is supposed to be rapid. I sped forward and caught up with him before passing him right before the end - it was f*cking brilliant. Absolutely gunned it. Lithium
Some people just ned that extra puch of motivation. whether its money or not, whatever works. Yeah I wouldn't even care so much about money, I just do it for something to do and because I'm good at lifting weights. It's nice to have accomplishments when it comes to physical fitness. Went from bench pressing 95 lbs in the beginning, to 365 lbs today. It's crazy what the human body can do!
Fnorg
Some people just ned that extra puch of motivation. whether its money or not, whatever works. Yeah, but the thing is if he's only it for the money, he'll spend the money on burgers, put the weight right back on and then some. There's no internal motivation. Without internal motivation you might as well not even bother. Just get a job instead and eat Twinkies until they clog your heart. sh*t, man, my parents offered me about $80 for every A I got in school, yet I never actually made the effort to get good grades. I took advantage of that when I needed some spending money, but other than that? Eh. I finally got decent grades because I wanted to have decent grades, not because of money. If you've ever seen The Biggest Loser (probs better if you haven't), you'd have seen that the fat bastards who are in it for the $250,000 or whatever usually put the weight right back on after they leave the fat factory, whereas the ones who want to make a lasting change stick to their regimen. I mean, has it really come to this? People have to pay you for you not to be fat?

Seriously, why would I enjoy being fat? You think it's fun to be the slowest in the pack? You think having tits bigger than most girls I know is preferable? You think being at a higher risk for diabetes and high blood pressure is admirable? You think it's nice to walk around looking like you're pregnant? I want to lose the weight because I'm sick and tired of being a fat piece of sh*t. Being fat isn't fabulous or beautiful, or any sh*t like that. It's disgusting, unsightly, and unhealthy. The fact that my dad's giving me money to slim down, well who doesn't like money? Just because I couldn't get it done before, I just wasn't ready. Kippers
When I was on my strict diet I think my calorie intake was around 1,500-2,000 calories a day from all whole foods (brown rice, lean meat and green veggies). I still don't eat that much bad sh*t nowadays, but sometimes it's hard if I don't have the money to get groceries right when I run out. 800 calories a day is rediculously low. In comparing that would be like 4 bags of regular chips. I've always been hugely curious about my overall daily or weekly calorie intake but never been bothered to look a the number on the packets. Ignorance is bliss hey? I basically eat the same thing every day at roughly the same times with a couple of pieces of fruit thrown in. Lunch (sandwich - cheese and Beetroot) @ half 1 with a chocolate buttons yoghurt (My weakness) Snack on grapes til about 5-ish when I sometimes cave in to a small slice of cake. Dinner @ 7.30 -8pm (Whatever my mum cooks, so it varies on the healthy meter every day) - Over the summer whilst i'm home from University. 10pm - Most nights an apple or banana accompanied with grapes. 11ish biscuit if I'm downstairs and i'm offered one. Every day and i'm about 11 stone 10 ounces....Maybe a tad higher. Some of that weight must be muscle from the gym program I posted on the first page, right? As I tell the instructors, I don't eat really an awful lot, but maybe what I do eat isn't that great...I've never understood exactly what i'm supposed to eat to be 'healthy' because everyone gives a different answer so I think 'f*ck it.' That lil list looks fairly balanced tbh. Edited June 30, 2011 by kippers. 習うより慣れろ

I don't follow that either, but I usually have a meal after the gym or a protein shake at least. After a hard hard workout I can eat like a horse because my body is starving to repair my muscles. Like you said, it doesn't look like your eating enough. If you put in more frequent, high protein meals, I bet you would put on a lot more muscle. Suihkubad
I just noticed that I have gotten in a pretty good shape without really trying but just living healthy. Eating semi healthy, jogging occasionally in winter and bicycling everywhere when weather is good enough got me 2950m in coopers test(12 min of running) which is just below excellent. Plus I have been steadily growing some muscles by doing small daily work out at home. Feels good man.

I don't think it will really affect you much as long as your getting your protein intake. They say your supposed to get about 1 gram of protein for every lb of muscle you have. I'm gauged at around 240 of muscle, and I wouldn't get that much protein in a day. I can usually get around 175-200, but 240 is a lot of eating. On the plus side, each protein shake has about 50 grams of protein in it. Maybe you should get a cheap protein to take right after the gym. That's when your muscles need it most!
