klhogan Posted June 28, 2011 Share Posted June 28, 2011 I have an interesting problem in that Bowling (or rather the ability to) doesn't load at all... This is different to the normal problems surrounding bowling that I have searched for and seen where you can start but can't throw the ball or it's unresponsive etc etc. In more detail, the problem is as so... I go to the bowling alley. I go inside - only partly loads - there's nobody bowling. At all. Even though there are still bowling sounds etc. I go up the the counter where the guy IS and press 'E' to start bowling. It then tells me to walk up to an empty lane to start. However, they're all empty, and when I walk up to them (or walk ANYWHERE in the entire place - trust me, I've tried) NOTHING HAPPENS! ...as in nothing. I don't start bowling or get any feedback whatsoever. It's just like pointlessly walking around an empty bowling alley except for me, the guy at the counter and the guy at the burger counter. Occasionally there's a couple of people sitting on the seats but thats it. I have a completely legit, 1.0.7 patched, unmodded (except for a couple of cars replaced) game. Anyone have any ideas on what's going on/what I should do? This problem is CRAP because it means that I can't even get past one of the first missions - first date - because the same thing happens - no ability to bowl. Hopefully someone has some idea because I haven't seen any other problem like this posted about... Liam Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

klhogan Posted June 29, 2011 Author Share Posted June 29, 2011 Yeah, well I in fact did restore all the original files as one of my first steps trying to solve the problem after I posted, firstly did nothing but what's interesting is that I later replaced some car files with different mods and after a while the bowling started working. This is weird because the only files I've ever modified including this time were vehicles.ide, carcols.dat and handling.dat - none of which have anything to do with bowling (or as it would seem...).
