fireguy109
What do you mean? You want to wipe all programs other than windows off your computer? Just go to "programs" and uninstall everything.
OverTheBelow
Formatting your harddisks and reinstalling Windows is the only way I'd see as the best method to get rid of all traces of old files.
Guest
You could do a Factory Reset which literally makes your PC like the day you bought it.

If not, how may I do it? Factory reset basically wipes out the entire drive and then reinstall it from a image. This still removes Windows. What you want is System Reset a new feature in their next OS Windows 8. This remove all programs, files (can be saved as a option) and resets Windows back to its default condition without actually erasing it. http://www.neowin.net/news/windows-8-039sy...039-image-leaks

leik oh em jeez!
Formatting your harddisks and reinstalling Windows is the only way I'd see as the best method to get rid of all traces of old files. No, if you wanted to get rid of ALL traces, the only way is to DBAN and then take a hammer to the drive. More on-topic: See if system restore has any early restore points, or reset the system from the factory image.

I heard hammer don't help as they can still extract bits of data from a smashed up drive. Read on another forum they destroy the drive via something called "level 6" which physically destroys the drive and comes out like glitter. leik oh em jeez!
That's why you DBAN the drive first. The hammer is just extra precaution. Makes it too much work to even bother trying to find a single remaining file. With just DBAN, there's software that can still search the drive. With just a hammer, you could still recover some data from pieces of the platter. With both, you're not getting ANYTHING from that drive.
