LiL Eddie 222
Ive thought a lot about it and since R* is trying to make it realistic why not make the players who commit a crime really spend time in jail and get options like fighting in jail, breakouts etc.
DarrinPA
It would be a little repeatative, for those who get arrested a lot. It would be cool for the first time or only with 6 stars or something.
LiL Eddie 222
Maybe you should be able to have the choice to either pay them off or get arrested... if you get tired of going to jail just pay them off
pilsvern
why not a mission like that, but It will be boring if they do it for every crimes
Max
The problem would be realism. In the current system the judicial process is completely ignored for the most part and so we as gamers are allowed to suspend our disbelief; however if they were to implement a prison system it would mean that we can no longer ignore the legal system and it would become an extremely lengthy process. In real life if you or I went on a city-wide killing spree and killed or wounded dozens of police officers, destroyed several million dollars worth of property and not to mention numerous traffic violations we would be facing months of court proceedings and appeals and then you'd be facing centuries in prison. To intitute a prison system would be ludicrous because you'd have to do it properly. The current system allows for a cartoonish unreality which I think benefits the game. A proper prison system would be unfeasible. Maybe a portion of the game set in Prison could work, although either the timescale of the game would have to be adjusted or the crime we're imprisoned for sufficiently minor enough to warrant release after a few weeks. The D-Meister
aye, a think we should be able to go tae jail and stuff. it would add the extra realism but it would be good tae get locked up. livin in a tough enviroment, fightin for survival, build up fitness n' stamina. get what a mean? it would make a good change the usual gta stuff by appearin outside a cop station 6 hours afterwards wae no weapons. GR7
They could do something like RDR where you see the character sitting in jail while all the crimes he's committed are shown on the screen. One thing that bugs me about the current system is being able to avoid being busted by just killing yourself so you get to keep your guns. If you are killed by the police or killed in the wanted area it should still count as being busted as well as wasted so you lose your guns and some money which could help bring back some tension to police chases. TruDat
Going to jail and breaking out everytime you're busted? I don't think that's a good idea. However, three or four missions where you are locked up having to survive with the prison taking on the role of 'the city' would be cool. It could end with a climactic brawl in the yard ( or something ) leading to you breaking out of jail, or just being released due to false imprisonment. I think it'd be kind of funny if they reintroduce the RPG element of SA, and if you weren't buff enough going in (of course you could lift weight while locked up), you'd get tried by the other prisoners in more ways than one. Buck Fitches
If any jail system was added the only way I would like it would be this: - You only get sentenced a few days game time. Not realistic but what fun would spending 25 to life in "GTA Next" be? Imagine getting a death penalty and having to restart the game.. - Serving the time is optional. You can choose to skip it right away and then a cut scene like RDR's happens or you can go through with serving your few days of time. - If you want to skip the rest of your time in jail after already starting it you could just go to your cell and sleep in your bunk, which would sim the rest of your prison stay. - If they had an escape system it has to be pretty difficult. - You can recruit inmates to help escape. - There would need to be contraband. - Being able to start a riot would be a nice touch.. In conclusion, a prison system would be a bit unrealistic which I know some do not enjoy and it would have to be done correctly. sonnyBlack
Getting sent to jail after getting busted would be neat at first since it'd be new to the series. But after a while once the novelty has worn off I can see it becoming really repetitive. I'm more interested in having a strand of missions take place within prison though. Your character could be setting up a prison break, which could lead to a few tense moments during the times where you nearly get caught setting up your jail break and such, and of course when you eventually break out.
