Dkmariolink
Hello, so Im buying GTA IV using amazon gift cards I got from a friend, and i was wondering something. What is the best patch for me to use to avoid as much slowdown as possible? I know a list of tweaks like commandline, so any other tweaks would be helpful too. mkey82
I wouldn't get GTAIV for that laptop as there is a distinct chance you'll have trouble even starting the game.

Girish
The 4th patch is said to be the best patch, performance wise. But even then, we cannot guarantee that the game will run flawlessly even on the lowest possible settings. It's upto you to decide if you're willing to take the risk. SNAKE DOC
Thx for replying, anything 20-30 fps is fine with me.. Lol Doubt the game will reach that frame rate on your system. Anyway, GTA IV is still on sale for $5.
Dkmariolink
Oh and by 4th patch do you mean patch 1.0.4.0 or 1.0.0.4?
mkey82
The latter does not exist. http://www.thegtaplace.com/downloads/f4249...-patch-v1-0-4-
TrevorSpeed914
To play GTA IV on a PC, I'd suggest a desktop. Laptops for gaming can be costly; most don't have the ram memory or graphics card available for a lot of games. Now, I am using a four year old HP Pavillion Entertainment PC as I type this, and I can play many games, but not GTA IV.
YankeesPwnMets
20-30 FPS? You'd be lucky to get 15 FPS. The average FPS your gonna get on that system is probably 5-10 FPS depending on your location
Rusev
With the latest patch and tweaks I had 10 fps tops on Intel GMA 4500M LOL!
