Lurch
When will you British cavemen get with the 20th century and get some AC? For those saying it's not worth the investment, the last couple years have obviously proved that isn't so. Those super ghetto window AC's that you see in trailer parks can be had dirt cheap/free. The little portable 110's can be moved at will to whichever room you're in. Edited June 28, 2011 by Lurch

I prefer to swing a cat around above my head and that pretty much acts a ceiling fan, so I don't need no fancy smancy AC.

Useless Dave
Due to the window unit I have, it's actually kind of cold in here right now, but that just means I get to snuggle up with my blanket and feel great. That being said, I will think of you all tonight while I'm cozy in bed. And I live in Texas.
Suihkubad
Pro tip:Take a large bottle, fill it with water and put in freezer. Take sips as the ice melts. 30C in Finland but I couldn't be enjoying it more since it'll be only 2 months before its all cold and dark again. Get a 2 litre bottle (A litre will do) - i took one to the gym and it was still f*ckiing cold when i got home. Leave that bad boy till it freezes it'll take all day to freeze Also if you add ice to salt water (do not freeze salt water) it'll stay cooler longer. Go and buy some flexible piping, a fish tank pump, and build a little decive that will cycle water from a cold container, clip that to the back of a fan - hey presto a home made air con! Sanjeem
I hear you mate, But I love the whether in England at the moment, a lot of my friends are complaining but just whip on some shorts a nice thin t-shirt and you'll be fine. Summer in England this year hopefully will be the sun we've been getting because I don't want a repeat of winter EDIT : Do not drink tea, maybe if naked yes, but with clothes on trust me I drink tea on a daily basis and it warms you up to the brim where you start tugging at your trousers to try and seperate the material from your skin because it gets that sticky. cactus.
Also if you add ice to salt water (do not freeze salt water) it'll stay cooler longer. Why in the world would you want to cool salt water?
trip
I guess air conditioners are not of the greatest quality up in a cold island, huh? haha, they're just expensive! Really? That sucks. Is it the cost of the unit or the cost of running them? Honestly, I am curious. I only have 2 AC window units, and I couldn't live without them. shred durst
It's probably not good when you're sitting at your computer and you can smell your balls even though you're wearing pants. Right? Pretty dope... and those shrooms were tight as f*ck.

England really doesn't warrant enough warm weather for people to consider splashing out on air conditioning. Although it looks pretty hot right now I dont think its hot enough to actually get your money back in the long run. From my experience just a normal fan on high right near you or in the room does the job if the heats bothering you that much.
