_GTAFREAK_
Hum... i don't know. At first, it surely depends on the story type, but some things like performing some house robbery and vehicle robbery (like stealing those cash transportation armored vans, and stash them somewhere...) things like that would be very nice to spend time with, especially it they could be worth it ($$$$$$$!!) know what i'm saying? Plus, i would like to perform some more "delivery odd jobs", like you go trough town with a Faggio or something delivering packages or "stuff", whatever it could be... i like that kind of secondary missions... oh, i almost forgot! I remeber when i was playing Vice City Stories, i was cruising around that huge beach, and i found a Lifeguard side mission. It was very funny to do, you got to drive a boat around the sea saving people from drowning... some of you might think it isn't that funny, but anyway i think it is quite original for a side mission! The next GTA MUST have some more originality on their side missions i think... and more variety too!

cactus. Also, your pay could increase based on how well you are doing each job. For example, if you're doing well as cop busting people for petty crimes, you begin to have harder missions like catching dangerous criminals and stuff like that. If you don't have anything constructive to post, then leave. well, what else is there to say?If you want me to ellaborate GTA is supposed to be a game where you blow sh*t up and drive fast cars,in other words,a game about crime. We're supposed to do stuff we can't do in real life like carjacking or flying choppers, what we can do in real life is have a boring job,and i'm not really insterested in having ''office employee'' or ''car dealer'' as minigames that you need to play in order to get money in the game;it'll be like the friend minigames all over again(only thtat this time, you win money ,oooh) Really go play some life simulator if you wanna have the protag work 9 to 5.(or become a real life car dealer or cop,I don't care)by the way,I not triyng to hate or flame ,I'm just giving my Honest opinion, dude. AceRay
agree with dethbiker. Its a game about crime, I don't have time to wait tables or do dishes or make pizza or whatever! its pointless in a game about crime!
Apex.
I don't mind jobs, as long as they reward well. Say, deliver 50 pizzas and have them delivered free to you or to your safehouse. Or possibly deliver a certain amount of drugs and upgrade your van to be armoured.
deli2000
Jobs are optional. they help add replay value to the game. some peoples attitude about, OMG I JUST TO BLOW @#$! UP! really turned me off GTA for a while. you can still do that, in the same way that you can just kill people in RDR, it didn't stop them from adding cool new features to the game. This applies to almost every thread i visit. Everybody is like, SHUT UP BITCH THIS [email protected] THE SIMS! or OMG I WANT TO ONLY SLAUGHTER AND RAPE ANIMALS AND CHILDREN BECUASE THIS IS GTAAAAAAAAAA! GTA is a sandbox game, where you can do what you want in an open enviroment. and believe it or not some people don't just want to slaughter people ALL THE FREAKING TIME! So..... I all for it. Psychotic Mind
Yes that's what makes Gta so great, the freedom. You don't even have to start the missions right away. I spent days playing 4 just driving around, killing and doing random things before I actually started the missions. You can choose to be the good guy and drive around in the Faggio delivering pizzas and keep a low profile. Or choose to be the bad guy, driving around in a Cadillac with corpses in the trunk waiting to be dumped in the landfill.

I really miss (optional!) vehicle missions in GTA IV. You only have Vigilante missions in police and FIB cars. Which are still pretty fun But it is basically only killing criminals. So it would be nice to arrest criminals alive as a police officer and get more money for it and get their outfit. But for variation sake they must add many kind of driving "jobs" Besides the jobs mentioned I would like to see (back): - Taxi Driver (the whole game ffs) - Limo Driver (for the rich and famous ) - Professional Race / Motor Driver (not an illegal street race but a legal race on different closed race tracks maybe in the same big arena) - Stunt Driver (for movie shots like the game Stuntman) - Wheelman (for being the escape Driver in Heists) Also, in TBOGT you could work as a Bouncer. Which was pretty cool. At the end of your shift you sometimes had to pick up and bring certain celebrities to their home escaping from the papparazzi. And obviously the very limitid Assassination/Hitman job in GTA IV has to come back in V and they should basically be infinite. With random places, random kind of assassination(variety in these missions, like a closed environment in a building or open areas or combinations) and random characters each mission. Or at least make a lot of these missions and let all off these side missions/jobs be replayable without have to load an early savefile when you have finished the game. So, the more (optional!) jobs the better

Kwandilibro
Yes and no. While I would like the opportunity to own businesses, booth legal and illegal, and I'd also like the opportunity to be a drug dealer of sorts, I don't want to have some boring ass 9 to 5 in GTA. It's not a life simulator.

Rhoda
An in-game job wouldn't bother me too much, so long as it follows the style of previous GTA games and it isn't: i) mandatory ii) too invasive of the story I find that anything in GTA is welcome and can be enjoyable providing it isn't forced upon you. Girlfriends are a prime example. I certainly wouldn't have minded dancing or driving around at 90mph with a screaming bitch in tow, but I certainly don't want to have to do it. Worse still? Losing something if you don't do it, with a lovely little bar telling you what you're crap at now you neglected poor Barbara/Denise/whichever ho you've starved of fine CJ meats. Give me a job that I get a reward from now and again, but at the same time give me a job that I don't get reminded about every 20 minutes and makes me lose a skill/ability that is somewhat noticeable. I feel VC was best for that - we could do taxi missions, sell ice cream and rob banks (a job at a push, I know) without too much to lose should we decide that a blue-collar 9-5 just isn't for Tommy with his shocking blue Hawaiian shirt. Jobs are good, but please don't hold it front of my face going "woohoo".

gta_fan28
Yeah side mission jobs are cool. But what I want in GTA5 are: 1.More Hitman jobs like in GTA4 2.Escort Jobs like in GTATBOGT 3.Drug dealing and delivery jobs. 4.Selling Ice cream for the peds with Ice Cream van. Others are already mentioned.

Exactly. Any variation in gameplay that extends game time is a good thing whether or not an individual deems it to be boring. For some people, this is their style of gameplay. I've read threads before that when people are driving, they follow all traffic laws and lights. This is the way they play. It's not up to someone else how I should enjoy the game; I'll do it my own way whether it's blow sh*t up or obey traffic laws and do mini games. Racecarlock
Well f*ck if you want to work at burger shot I won't stop you. Here's my thing. I'll be fine with them keeping IV activities and adding the vehicle missions back so long as they aren't to the exclusion of more crazy things. My problem with the activities in GTA IV wasn't that they were too down to earth, I mean I just didn't play them because of that. My problem is that they were the only things you could do in the game (besides free roam rampaging of course) until the DLC came along. So, I won't be mad if they add in jobs so long as they aren't mandatory or added in to the exclusion of stadium racing, base jumping, plane flying, and other over the top activities. I think V needs to be an epic mix of both honestly. The game that pleases everyone, like Vice city in the PS2 era.

Proud Fool
I think R* could improve what they already had going in IV, like Brucie's Exotic Exports and Little Jacob's Drug Dealing, every mission giver should have their own side missions depending on their line of work. Agreed. I loved this about GTA IV. Even though they were brief doing taxi missions for Roman actually felt like it was helping him out. Even though it didn't really do anything however it gave a good illusion. I think this is how the side jobs/missions should always be handled from now on. I don't want to start randomly doing side jobs/missions like the Saints Row games for example. There should be at least a reason for doing them. I would like most mission givers to have their own set of side jobs/missions like GTA IV had. Or at the least be introduced during the story.
