black.y14
Hello people, I am planning on buying the Action Replay Max Evo sometime soon for GTA SA on the PS2. The only problem is that I'm not so sure how it works and I was wondering if anyone could help me out and explain to me how it works. I have a couple of questions: Note: I have the greatest hits version of the game. 1. How do exactly do you input new codes?? 2. My PS2 does not have a Broadband thingy, so how can I update the codes? 3. Why do people convert codes??? Whats the reason for doing so? Must you convert them? 4. Are ALL master codes the same? Or is there a different one made specifically for the greatest hits version? 5. I am planning on using ric-013's territory glitch so I was wondering if anyone would show me an example of how to input the code into my game. 6. Where can I get an Action Replay Max Evo? haha Sorry if this topic is not appropriate for this bulletin but I don't know anywhere else to look. So please answer my questions and I would truely appreciate it. Thanks

I said probably but since I want to get the most out of GTA: SAN ANDREAS, I decided that I want to get one go to either Ebay.com or Amazon.com man those are the best places they don't sell them in local stores (I.e. like GameStop WallMart Frys Target etc...) but I must warn you they don't go cheap on ebay or amazon I had to pay freakin' 75.00$ for CodeBreaker Version 8.1 freakin' insane!. Thanks #1 - there are 3 ways ... manually ( using the controller ) , usb stick update and online update . #2 - yes , using the 2 other ways . #3 - conversions are needed cuz cheat-devices dont use same encryptions , example : a gameshark code can get converted to armax format . #4 - each version of the game have its own mastercode , however theres a good chance that a "gta sa greatest hits " section will already exist on your cheat-device disk , so you wont have to bother with the mastercode . #5 - its really easy , in each game menu theres a " add new codes " section , you give the code a name and input the digits on a virtual keyboard . #6 - official cheat-devices web sites , ebay , walmart , best buy , gameshop , etc ... note : some store may not have them in store anymore . black.y14
@ric-013 thanks a lot for the info!!! its really helpful but I have one more question for you. When converting Raw codes into Action Replay Max codes using Omniconvert, you need to include the master code in the input list right. But my question is, does the master code have to be in Raw version?? Because I wanted to convert your Secondary Gang Weapons Mod Code, which were in Raw, for NTSC v2 into an Action Replay Max code so I copy and pasted your code into the input section along with the master code which I got from Barguast's Action Replay codes post(which was a Action Replay Max NTSC master code). Then I converted then afterwards I saved as Armax(.bin) and I named the file as codelist.bin but I got a message saying, "File cannot be created without a master code in the list". Why does this keep happening??? Sorry if this is kinda off topic, but I really need help converting. I would really appreciate any help Thanks. Know any easier ways?? I do not have internet connected to my PS2 by the way, I only have the Max memory card but I don't know how to use it to put codes in my PS2 here's how to create a codelist.bin using omniconvert : CHEAT CODE UPDATES USING CODELIST.BIN:The process is:-download OmniConvert -Include a working (M) Code in the list -Paste all the RAW codes into the left panel - include text Titles on the line before the cheat.-Set the game ID and region.-Enter a Game Name - anything; it's just a text title for the menu.-Make sure the Input type is Unencrypted Standard.-Set the Output type to Action Replay MAX -Select File, Save As ARMAX (.bin)...-Filename must be "codelist.bin" to be loaded as updated codes.-Copy codelist.bin to the root directory of a USB memory device.-Delete/Rename/Move the MAXsettings folder.-Remove all memory cards or other sources of settings for ARMAX.-Plug the USB memory device into the PS2.Start ARMAX - it will load quickly without all the other codes. note : codelist.bin wont mix together codes for your game ( cd codes and codelist.bin ) so copy & paste any other code you want to use in your codelist.bin. good luck Edited June 28, 2011 by ric-
black.y14
@ric-013 Thanks for the info! It really helped but I have more questions. 1. I have the greatest hits version, so does that mean I must put "08B0" on the little ID section?? 2. In the Cheat Code Updates Using codelist.bin process, what do you mean by including working master code in list?? What list do you mean?? Do I put the (m) code in the input section along with the RAW codes that I want?? Sorry for so many questions, I just don't want to end up messing my system up

Sorry for so many questions, I just don't want to end up messing my system up #1: yes thats the right one . #2: all code goes in " input " in raw format ( convert any other format to raw ) , a working raw mastercode must 1st code . btw , if there are codes for gta sa greatest hits on ur armax cd , the codelist.bin codes wont wont mix with it ... there 2 things you can do : - create a big codefile.bin with all the codes you want to use ... in your case , v2 version codes ( thats what i do ) OR !!! - once the codelist.bin is loaded in axmax , insert your ps2 memory card and manualy edit code name ( do a minor change ) and save each codes. reset armax without usb ( codelist.bin ) and ur saved codes should load with the cd codelist if same mastercode was used. black.y14
Okay but wait, where do I get a working master code from? Must I convert the official master code from Code Junkies to RAW format then use that one to put it in the input box? So what you are saying is to create a big codefile.bin in my USB flash drive then paste all the codelist.bin codes into that folder?

black.y14
@BabeRuth apparently, I don't have one of those. I just barely got my Action Replay Max Evo and I'm depending on my Max USB that comes along with it. I'm just wondering where do I find a working Master code to add to the input box in Omniconvert. Enable codeF0532C4C 00532C4F this is your converted working raw mastercode !!!! #2: no, thats not it ... - in omniconvert , set input to ( unencrypted - standard ) and output to ( action replay - MAX ) - paste raw mastercode in " input " window as 1st code , - then paste all codes you want in same " input " window ( codes must be in raw format ) right under your mastercode, - hit convert ( im not sure its needed , but i always do it ) - follow the rest of the " codelist.bin " instructions steps ( in one of my previous posts ) omniconvert is pretty easy to understand , you should practice abit , grab codes from pinned codes conversion topic that were converted to armax and try converting them yourself and see if you get same results ...note : in armax codes , 1st line is always random , look at other lines to compare. then try converting codes from other cheat-device format and test them out . trial & errors is sometimes the best way to learn ... but remember to search around , there are lots of good toturials .
