Fireman
People calling mainstream games underappreciated make me laugh. Especially the post with Mafia 2, Driv3r and Mirrors Edge, and the one with Silent Hill. The one with Mirrors Edge is especially funny, because besides everyone knowing it, it f*cking sucks and therefore is overappreciated if even one person likes it. How the f*ck does it make difference if it's mainstream or not? None of those games were that well-appreciated, so I have no f*cking idea what the hell you're on about. I found all Mafia 2, Driver 3, Mirror's Edge and Silent Hill 4 enjoyable games, and so did many other people. So basically what you said was, that all of these games were played by a lot of people and enjoyed by many other people, and they're still underappreciated? You clearly got a wrong view on what games to call under appreciated. Under appreciated doesn't mean, IT DIDNT GET AN OSCAR. Under appreciated means not many people have played it because it did not get as much advertisement/credit as it deserved. When a lot of people buy the game, it's not under appreciated. Nor is a bad game that's called bad, under appreciated, because it's bad. Urban Chaos: Riot Response - fantastic game with some excellent action sequence. I played and finished that game! It was quite cool, nonetheless the real Urban Chaos was 10x better (though they aren't sequels or the same game, I know).

I believe it means that something isn't well appreciated, e.g. someone doesn't appreciate a book.

If it sells a lot and the people who buy it say it sucks, it's not under appreciated now is it? Clearly they bought it because it was (over) appreciated by others, they went to buy it and then, it sucked. If it sells well it's appreciated (by the majority), else people wouldn't BUY it. If after they buy it, find out it sucks, it's not under appreciated, it's just a sh*tty game that doesn't live up to the over appreciated advertisement/credits they got for making the game. mr quick
Cel Damage - Just absolute fun. Driving around beating up my sisters was a lot of fun! I know I can think of others....hold on. ^this Cel Damage, wow that has given me so many hours, Probably the most fun cartoon game i have played and the most fun car combat game. It really did a fantastic job with the cartoon graphics, and the fun physics in that game were awesome, i really hope they make another game similar/the same as that. Some asshole with adhd cracked my disk in half when he lost in fifa.

I was surprised by the quality, especially for its time. What happened was: the news of me having the latest fifa had reached him. So, suddenly he shows up at my house. I let him in nd let him play. I go into the next room to play XIII on pc. Minutes pass and suddenly I hear him going "Argh!" then a loud snapping noise. Then he comes into my room and says he hs to go. I go in the other room. To see he had lost 0-3, and there it was on the floor, the cracked disk "Err what now?" = "Why did you post that while quoting a post about a wheeled combat game in a topic about underappreciated games?" But cool story bro. Just kidding, just kidding.

Afro Zombie
I'd say Singularity was pretty under appreciated as I know next to no one who played it. It was a good game with an interesting story mixed with bits of time travel. It had solid game play but it was sort of a mix of other popular games and it did feel very bioshocky, but ah well it was still a decent game that more people should have played. Slamman
Think back to 16bit SEGA Genesis!! On that system, long before GTA, there was Razorsoft's TechnoCop, that game combined driving with a side scrolling shooter to nab bad guys, and you drove a Lambo Countach IIRC, one of my all time favorites
AceRay
I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet but I have to say James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing is a fantastic, under-rated game, it is the best Bond game since Goldeneye. Contains the voices of Pierces Brosnan, John Cleese and Willem Dafoe and a heap of great graphics, fun shooting, melee and driving and an above average storyline. MrcTOtheJ
Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3, It was one of the few street racing games that made you feel as if you were street racing, none of this preset track stuff, just out run your opponent and win, not only that I loved the fact it was in Japan and took place all over the Wangan Highways. Really made for some intense 200mph+ action. Really under appreciated in the western crowd.

I spent hours on end customizing the paint-job on my cars pixel by pixel if I needed to, I also liked how you could plug a mouse into the PS2 to paint your cars as well. I also miss Bushido Blade, one of my favourite games ever.

tuareg
Black. Storyline was pretty decent, soundtrack was close to perfect, among the best graphics for the PS2 and it was over the top action balanced out perfectly. I'd give my left arm to play this again. And NFS: Porshe unleashed definitely. I remember playing the demo for years and then my father's friend had the game and gave it to us eventually. Played it to death almost literally as my pc screwed up around then

Good call, I've been playing TXR0 recently, and the last game in the series "Import Tuner Challenge", I forgot how good they were, we never got TXR3 over here in the UK but I was considering buying a USA PS2 to play it, because I was looking at some videos on YouTube and it looks brilliant. Slamman
But, keep in mind, Sean Connery revived for a video game exclusive just failed to make an impact I think, so it's under-rated. He's given up on working in show-biz, he finds it all too tiring and taxing, and he's legend regardless. Enjoying the good life nowadays

It's a great game, beats 0 and Import Tuner Challenge by a land slide IMO. Also Tokyo Xtreme Racer Drift 2 was all right too, It's under a different title in the UK though, since it was actualy the 3rd title in the sspin off series outside of the US. You might want to give that a look to, it’s all Touge racing (mountain pass) but it’s loads of fun, decent car list to. Though it’s 90% Japanese with a few European cars sprinkled in there, but it dosen’t bother me any. Edited July 17, 2011 by Mr.c TO the J
Benzoboy
Yeah, I've seen the UK version of TXRD2, I think it was called Kaido Battle here, incredibly rare though. Anyway, speaking of underrated Japanese car games... A lot of gamers dismissed this due to it's childlike graphics and gameplay. But honestly, this game is great fun if you get over the whole youthful aspect. Large open world in which you're free to roam, with lots of objectives along the way.
