LittleBlueTroll
Well having read threw the "Most Over Hyped Video Games" Thread, i thought we might aswell chew the fat over the must underappreciated games! (In your opinions of course) For me Mark Eckos Contents under pressure is high on my list. I LOVED this game on PS2, and i think that it gave a refreshing experience, the whole Free running, rebellious idea really appealed to me! Maybe a sequel with a game engine similiar to Assassins Creed would really get me foaming at the mouth Another for me was Mafia 2, yes it got good reviews by most reviewers but i know alot of people who have never played it, and i think its one hell of a good game! One of the best ive played on the 360! I really wish that it was popular i guess! List yours below.
mrpain
Pure. The best racing game I've ever played. It was published by Disney and had some crazy air tricks. Plus the graphics are still the best I've seen up to now.

Xboxless
Cel Damage - Just absolute fun. Driving around beating up my sisters was a lot of fun! I know I can think of others....hold on.
coin-god
Red Orchestra, great game. But few people seem to care about it. Can't think about any others.

mrpain
Mirrors Edge. I know alot of people that like it, but also alot of people that hate it. You kidding me? That's the only game that me and many of my friends actually love it together. The ending was kinda lame though. OOOH I JuST JUMPED INTO A HELICOPTER! Shteeve McClaren
Need For Speed: Porsche 2000 (or Porsche Unleashed in the U.S.) was brilliant. The game's "story mode" was pretty interesting, playing through different eras, starting with the oldest cars. There were also extensive information about each car, and you could customize them with a lots of parts. The atmosphere in the game was pretty good aswell, the European environments worked great with the soundtrack.

I'd have to say Time Splitters 2. Was an awesome game and I've easily played a couple thousand hours on it. far more than any of the other games I've played way too much of. (Crash Team Racing and Gran Turismo 3) Even with all of it's epicness, 99% of my friends had ever ever heard of it. I only know 1 or 2 people that have played it. I second this, timesplitters 2 should have been much more popular than it was, I don't know anyone else who has it.

trip
Need For Speed: Porsche 2000 (or Porsche Unleashed in the U.S.) was brilliant. Totally loved it, and really loved the historic progression of it all. A reboot of that game would be a nice treat. I think the core Sims series games go under appreciated. Sure, everyone knows it is great, but it will forever suffer the "I'm not playing dolls" issue it suffers among the majority of gamers. Absurdity
Viking battle for Asgard is a low budget, unhailed and at times genuinely impressive hack n' slash romp of romp like proportions.
AceRay
Loved Porsche 2000 too. Pirates of the Caribbean game for me (the original). It's not actually based on the film, but it was an amazing pirate RPG I have to say so. definitely worth a check out.
Fireman
RTS: Knights and Merchants (which is the best RTS ever, animation-wise) Anno 1404 (or most Anno games) KK'n'D Action: Messiah (one of the coolest games ever, yet a lot of people don't know it) Gangland (an awesome mix of RTS, Action and shooters) Soldat (2D Shooter, which is free soldat.pl)
pyramid head
Silent Hill 3 i think it's underappreciated and it is definitely the last of the great Silent Hill titles before the change in developer, Silent Hill should only be made by Team Silent and no-one else. Area 51 the PS2 version not the crap PS3 version http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Area_51_%282005_video_game%29 Fahrenheit aka Indigo Prophecy, need i say more Tomb Raider The Angel Of Darkness, there may be people who hate it but i think it's still one of the best raider games around and the story combined with the music is excellent, AOD is more like Tomb Raider than anything Crystal Dynamics have come up with. Rise To Honour, good game if a little annoying in places. Futurama, best game spun off from a tv show i've ever played, i think it's better than the simpsons games. Okami, don't have to say anymore, the name Okami says it all. Star Trek Voyager Elite Force, best trek game ever in my opinion. On DS, Hotel Dusk Room 215 Last Window The Secret Of Cape West, sequel to Hotel Dusk room 215 in all but name On PS1, Overboard fun game where you could play as your own pirate ship, i wish this was released on PSN i would like to play it again. riquenunes
Conker's Bad Fur Day on N64. It's such an amazing game that everyone should play, specially the multiplayer modes. Unfortunately I've never heard anybody talking about it.
Chinatown Wars
Oh yeah driv3r I remember buying this to wait for GTA San Andreas. Fun game to screw around with, physics were funny (cars would randomly spin uncontrollably in the air forever), graphics were ahead of its time (though pc graphics were worse than ps2, amazingly), story was ok, secrets were amazing (the golf cart, you could also race someone on the track) The only thing is they pushed the release date of this so atari couldnt get everything in (like a lot of more vehicles, Driver 3 was changed to Driv3r, quality was crapped, and ETC) Still an amazing game to me

Vanzant
Rock and Roll Racer for SNES! I love that damn game and no one I know has never heard of it. It's the first game I had that had real songs in it.
Mr.Moffat
Would have to be silent hill 4, strange and disturbing story graet soundtrack, art work and atmosphere, it tried something new, yet still felt like silent hill, just a few poor design choices in gameplay hampered it plus lot of people say that team silent were the only ones who could make silent hill, i disagree, each of the games sine no 1 had different members bar a few key members and silent hill 4 did''nt have ito the famed SH artist yet it still looked amazing so my take just let the japanese make the games again. Dingleman
I would have to say the most unappreciated game on my list would be Lucas Arts' 1997 western FPS game called Outlaws. I grew up playing that game (since I was three to be frank) and I still look at it the same way I did the first time I played it. To me it still has one of the best settings, musical scores and stories in any game up to this point in time. I like to think of Red Dead Redemption as the bastard child of Outlaws and GTA. Fireman
People calling mainstream games underappreciated make me laugh. Especially the post with Mafia 2, Driv3r and Mirrors Edge, and the one with Silent Hill. The one with Mirrors Edge is especially funny, because besides everyone knowing it, it f*cking sucks and therefore is overappreciated if even one person likes it. Also Vanzant my friend! I have Rock 'n' Roll racing on my SNES, it's f*cking awesome! Biker Mice from Mars aswell.
Capricornus
Definitely Sonic Unleashed for the PS3/360. Me being a huge Sonic fan aside, that game was just f*cking awesome, yet it got hammered by reviews. Sure it had it's flaws like any other game but it was overall fantastic IMHO. Mokrie Dela
Cannot believe how little that SimCity 4 is appreciated in the gaming industry. i've been chomping that bad boy out these last few days. With this heat there's no way i'm playing my xbox in my room, so i'm downstairs on the old desktop with OLD games. I may crack out VC tonight! Shame Simcity 5 never came. SC4, with a multitude of mods rocked. (NAM for example) The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing. Click here to view my Poetry
