Erik963 Posted June 25, 2011 Share Posted June 25, 2011 My PC specs are Operating System MS Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1 CPU Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo P7550 @ 2.26GHz 52 °C Penryn 45nm Technology RAM 4.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 531MHz (7-7-7-20) Motherboard LENOVO KIWB1 (U2E1) Graphics monitor PnP ([email protected]) NVIDIA GeForce GT 240M Hard Drives 488GB Western Digital WDC WD5000BEVT-24A0RT0 (SATA) 40 °C Optical Drives HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT30N Audio Realtek High Definition Audio And gta iv runs on like 20 fps. It is so freaking annoying i was looking all over the internet and i have not found anything. The game is still playable and i allready completed it but it is so freaking annoying for example when i try to ride my comet without crashing or trying to kill a cop by headshoting him. All of that is just inpossible cause of the slow mo lagg. I'd like you to help me with this. Please send me some sugestions i have allready patched the game to 1.0.7.0 but the game still doesnt run how it should. I saw tons of people with Worse PC spec than mine eve with 3gb or 2GB ram with 2GHZ processor and older nvidia card and they run pretty smothly. I curretly play on medium cuase difference betwen high and medium is like 5 or 4 fps but still better than nothing. Please help me with this. I dont want to play on low graphic (it will not help anyway) when my PC can handle High. Worst of all it says i use only 250 something memory of 990 and i run on pretty low fps. I mean the usage difference is about 700mb so it should run on 60FPS or more but nooo it runs on 20fps. Can you help me please Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Stinky12 Posted June 25, 2011 Share Posted June 25, 2011 You can try some of the tips located on this site, but seriously that system you have is not capable of playing GTA IV with good frame rates. You will need at least a quad core and good video card and this laptop you have does not have any of it. The video card you have, people uses that more for HTPC than playing games especially GTA IV. If you're talking about youtube videos, then they are not to be believed. Most of it is crap. Your laptop is not really meant for gaming. The only thing I can suggest is to run the game at a lower resolution and rollback to the 4th patch. It's said to be the best patch performance wise. Also, update your video driver. If it had worked so flawlessly on weak systems, you wouldn't have had so many people complaining about them not being able to run the game properly. It was just a console version ported to PC, without any optimization. I've also said this before - You don't have as great of a PC as you think you have. I'm also not happy with this framerate, but I just accept it. But erm, do you use commandline? That really helped me alot (especially with my previous GT 220, comparable with your card). I have not seen it on playstation, but have heard it is about the same. It "potentially" runs much better on a pc. Compared to any other game there is a huge amount of random activity happening, which requires processing power. To equal the Xbox performance, not graphically, you need a quad core cpu running at 3.2Ghz, or therabouts. A better graphics card makes it look a lot better. unc13bud Posted June 27, 2011 Share Posted June 27, 2011 A GT210 is pretty close to a GT220 in terms of performance it depends on the flavor of the cards. the gt 210 i see on newegg have only 16 shader cores, my evga gt 220 has 48. If this is the case, then why does it run badly on an Xbox. this is a very good point. My pc is not that good as it is ok i accept it but. why are LOTS of people complaing on gaming pcs with 8gb ram nvidia gforce newest graphic card some of them even had 2 and quad core processors that it laggs? If it laggs on mine that is not that good.,... OK but if it laggs on the one of most powerfull PCs than i dont think its the bug of the PC but of the game... GTAIV is a buggy mess, and its an unoptimized console port as well.
