Typhus
I'd go back to yesterday and fight myself. I've always wondered how I'd do in a real, full-out fight. Plus, I'd get a lot of joy from punching myself in the face.
Iminicus
I'd go back to the time when singing about a girl having passed sweet sixteen but not yet 18 was alright and you could marry here. 30's ERA Hollywood HERE I COME!
GTA_stu
I'd go back about 5000 years and show off with my mobile phone and futuristic clothes. Plus everyone was smaller back then so I'd be taller than everyone for once. They'd treat me like a god!

Plus, I'd get a lot of joy from punching myself in the face. That's pretty odd, why do you want to punch yourself in the face? Though the full-on fight I can somewhat understand. Also, remember in that fight, present-you will always lose. Everytime you punch past-you in the face, you will get the nasty effects of 24 hours, plus if you go all-out till the end, present-you will always die before past you. You can sustain your old self serious injuries that will cause their death in a day, but they will technically still be alive then, so they are the winners. Plus, you will be taking injuries from them on top of the daamge you are inflicting on yourself. I would definately be to go back to ancient times to see what all those greatly admired and even worshipped religious figures were really like. I am pretty certain they were just humble guys with no miracles who spoke about justice for the under-dogs of societies back then. I'd also probably run up to them in my modern-day attire and some flashlight strapped to my head and proceed to kick them in the balls, then disappear in the time machine again. It should be a recurrent theme to all religious figures, just to see how religions today would act - hopefully there would be more unity regarding the strangly-dressed angels kicking each of their prophets and messiahs in the balls, imaparting great wisdom onto them, and parting special powers to their seed and offspring. Maybe kicking religious leaders in the balls will become a common religious practice today, which will certainly prevent the problems of the paedophile priest controversies today. coin-god
No one would kill Hitler? f*ck, no. I'd sit him down for a Q&A (during which I would tell him that he should shave off that toothbrush so as not to f*ck future generations out of wearing that style). But killing him would stop his mustache from being condemned as well? Changing such a thing would alter the present alot. You probably wouldn't exist anymore. Although, talking about hitler, I would really like to know how he really behaved. And know his actual reasons for each of the things he did. Levindski
But what if you creating microsoft alters the course of time... and then face book never existed? It's like that one movie where ashton kutcher steps on a butterfly and his life is different Good movie, the butterfly effect. Agreed. Epic movie. Killing Hitler would create millions of more Jews in the modern world, and I'd probably be piss poor. Don't call me out on being racist or stereotypical; you all know that's what's likely to happen. So I'd probably go steal some future technologies. At least that would only mess up the future, which doesn't concern me as of yet.
_Rob_
Quite clever, however I find the theory that the past exists as it has already happened, the future does not the most logical, and therefore you couldn't do that.

You can time travel to the future. If you manage to survive traveling at the speed of light.
_Rob_
I was under the impression travelling at the speed of light was how you'd go back in time, given that the faster you go, the slower time goes, although you don't realise it when your driving a car time goes a minuscule amount slower than when you're standing still. No, its the other way around. You go slower, wich means time passes quicker.
_Rob_
Ah ok, well in that case future time travel would be possible, but you'd only ever see the world in the future that you never existed, so it wouldn't be the true future, that is assuming that you can travel back in time too. In that case I wonder how (in theory) you'd be able to travel back?

Traveling back in time is another thing, not really possible from what we understand. There was a guy creating a time machine, but it would only send info to times in wich it exists and its turned on. So in the future, it woul be able to send info back in time to any time after it was turned on. (hope it makes sense)

Time just slows down which means you age slower while everyone else ages faster.

Robinski
You can definitely travel forwards in time. In fact, I'm doing it right now, albeit, quite slowly.
_Rob_
Problem with the send info back in time would be that as soon as it was turned on we would instantly learn things and be more advanced, this would happen on a loop so that we would become so advanced in such a short time that who knows what amazing or disastrous things would happen! coin-god
This ilustrates, in a fancy way, what would happen if you could move at the speed of light: I love that movie, and the book.
Ruffio
I would never travel at the past. It's past. It's over. You will learn nothing from the past. In the opposite, I'd really like to travel at the future, about 70-100 years ahead so I could see how the world would be and how much the technology would have developed. In the worst case the world may have been destroyed, but it's okay, at least I would know that it had ended. If someone told me that I can't travel at the future but only at the past, then I would take all my knowledge and all the science books I could find with me (in a device probably) in order to show the scientists of "that" time the new technologies so that humanity-technology could develop more quickly. But that's just dreams. Also for all you guys that are trying desperately to kill Hitler, well, you're not the first one that thought of killing him. Almost the entire world wanted him dead during WWII. Being born 40-50 years after WII won't make you more capable of killing him.
_Rob_
Problem with that is, if you took materials from now to the past and taught scientists what we know, then you'd change the future and most likely you'd never be born, but then you could never travel back in time in the first place, therefore creating a paradox. chris
I mean i'd help them win the war just to see what the future would be like under nazi control, if it's pretty terrible then i can always just go back in time again and help the allies instead. ChossenOne
I'm heading back to the 1980s. I would like to catch a Metallica show when they were in their prime. I'd also like to make "wild n crazy" bets at sporting events. Make me some eazy money and bang some big haired, trashy 80s chicks. And there'll be no danger of being seduced by my mother - as she didn't live in Melbourne in the 80s. So suck on that, McFly!
