Recently made this for a friend

 

 

 

but it won't work as a sig because its too big of file size, its pixel size is fine though, what to do?

I think you are making it in large resolution.

 

Try the pic's file format in JPG or GIF.

.png is the only format that supports quality transparency, to make it fit within the size, lower the color levels using posterize.

Try saving it as a .BMP, Although it will lose quality you will still be able to use it.

Bitmaps have larger file sizes than PNGs. And they don't support transparency.

 

The best thing to do is what Narcis said: Posterize the image and save it as a PNG.
