A different UK location

Hi all

Now I know the chances of the next GTA being set in the UK is extremely unlikely as Americans are fanatic about it being set in America (no offence intended) haha

But in all the threads discussing a UK location everyone seems obsessed with London, why? is it because its the capital city?

just becuse its the capital city doesnt mean its a good location just like you wouldnt set GTA in Washington DC.

I think UK cities that have a much more interesting gangland culture are places like Manchester, Glasgow, Nottingham, Liverpool.

Personally i would like to see a GTA set in Manchester as it has a very interesting and varied type of criminal and gangster and also the city itself is also perfect for a GTA game.

Before you laugh me off and stop reading just hear me out,

I think the city itself is perfect because of a vibrant city centre with buildings like the Beetham tower and places like Picadilly gardens.. the city centre has a very nice pleasant atmosphere during the day then during the night the atmosphere changes feels a bit like portland on GTA3

Then we move on to the slums of Manchester... the red brick terraced houses which are pretty unique to manchester

and then there is Wythenshawe the biggest council estate or housing project in all of Europe.

and we have all the nice neighbourhoods altrincham, didsbury etc... Manchester is a very varied city.

 

Crime wise there is no place better through out history we have had notoriou gangsters even in the 60's we had the qsg gang who famously sent the kray twins (supposedly the most powerfull gangsters in England) right back to London

but if it was upto me i would set it in the 90's when sh*t really hit the fan

We had the black gangs around Moss side and south manchester warring it out over drug turf the place was like Beirut.

We have the white gangs of armed robbers from salford who raid just about everwhere.

Then the Wythenshawe boys, what can i say there always upto no good.

We also have alot of loveable rogues i would provide links but just look this stuff up on google you's find loads and loads of reading material about this.

I know this is never going to happen but I think it wouldnt be a bad thing and i dont see why a UK location has to be London all the time
