Oil painting like filter on 360?

Hi there~! I'm usually a PC gamer when it comes to the GTA series.. and uhm, well I'm overall a PC gamer

But recently I decided to buy an Xbox 360 along with Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City The Complete Edition.

I've played quite a few games on the 360 and games do indeed look pretty awsome!

But when it comes to GTA IV, there seems to be this pretty ugly oil painting like filter. Also, the shadows look absolutely terrible! I'm using HDMI on my 360 and even that can't protect it against this.

Was just wondering if there is a way to fix this at all? I've seen gameplay videos online of GTA IV on 360 and it doesn't look as bad as it does on my console! ^^'

Thanks~

Have you tried using 1080p? tounge.gif Mine is pretty fine. Could you also post a photo of the screen (with a camera with a higher resolution of course, and good focus)? GTA IV does have a blurring filter, but it shouldn't be very noticable on consoles.

Yupyup, I've tried using 1080p and I still had the same results!

It's not the best picture but you can see the shadows are quite terrible and in the distance objects seem to have a water color/ oil painting like filter ?

Carter.Slade

As I know in pc this type of gameplay happens when definition is on, I dunno whether xbox360 have that option.

I've heard that the console versions do have that option but I can't seem to find it in Display at all!

This is really bugging me, I can't exactly play the game for an extended period of time or else I'll start to feel sick @[email protected]

You can't turn off that filter on the consoles, sadly. Try fiddling with your TV setting to make the image sharper and undo the filter that way wink.gif
