Lithium
Recently I just haven't been happy playing video games, I used to spend a lot of spare time playing video games but recently I just get bored easily and go listen to music. The only games I've played a lot recently are Rockband and Guitar Hero. What do you think is happening? Same thing is happening to me actually. I got L.A. Noire the first day it came out and still haven't beaten the game. I used to play xbox at least 1-2 hours a day, and lately I may play that much in a week. Maybe it's the nice weather has me outside more? I'm not really sure. It might be partially due to my xbox live running out too though. I can't even watch netflix anymore without xbox live gold. What a f*ckin rip.
KilnerLUFC
Noticed the same thing recently, and can't come to the exact conclusion as to why. I thought it might have been my age, but there are alot of older people out there that play games. All my 360 games are incomplete, and never get the urge to actually complete any of them. None of them seem to have that replay value to them either. IV for example, great game and whatnot, but recently I had to restart the game from scratch after getting a new 360, and I felt like I was only playing the game to get my achievements back, rather then enjoying the game. Stoatz
The current state of the gaming industry is contributing to my lack of interest in gaming as well, thought I'd point that out as well.
Straznicy
I lost interest in the majority of console games a few years ago. There's some notable exceptions like Battlefield, GTA and Fifa which I keep going back to, but I tend to play them in "bursts" for a few days then lose interest again. I remember I'd play Halo 2 for hours everyday for at least 6 months and never got bored. I agree that there's something amiss in the gaming industry atm, and that's probably what's contributing. There's a real lack of innovation and challenge in most titles that are churned out these days. I guess that's what happens when something becomes a mass market though - games are designed with broad appeal in mind. Strategy games have always kept me hooked though. I've been playing Europa Universalis 3 for at least an hour a day for the past month.

Same here, I only really play the big name games now. Maybe there's a lack of competition for ps3 games, in my opinion, because i just don't see a good enough reason to splash out money on worthless trash. WF the Hobgoblin
I occasionally get this feeling. I think generally I don't play games as much as I used to anyway but getting a new game usually helps.
mrpain
Anybody realised that 2011 is shaping up to be a boring year for gaming? I don't know about you guys but the only games I know that could have a chance at Game Of The Year is Portal 2 and LA Noire (And I have not even touch the latter yet.) Sure I did enjoy Marvel VS Capcom 3 and....wait there's no and. Portal 2 and Marvel VS Capcom 3 are the only games I bought this year. But to make up for it, I just go back to my old games. Hell I just recently bought The Orange Box for $15 so that should make up for this year's games.
The-King
Anybody realised that 2011 is shaping up to be a boring year for gaming? Yeah, the f*ck? Deus Ex 3, Skyrim, LA Noire, Battlefield 3, The Witcher 2, Portal 2, Crysis 2, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, and a good dozen others? Must be a deep ass hole you're living in. |PropagandaIncorporated:|: Steam:|: DeviantArt:|: Last.FM|

Yet to play it, but reading the L.A Noire thread, and alot of people were left dissapointed after the game, and didn't want to replay it. Same goes for Portal 2, which left some people dissapointed aswell. Few years ago, I could sit and play the hell out of a game, just exploring every nook and cranny, and replaying the game until the disc broke, but now, as I said, half my games are incomplete and I have no desire to complete these. Gaming used to be fun, but now it seems am doing it just to fill the gap of spare time during the day.

Typhus
The problem with me is the lack of good games. I'm really waiting for GTA V and Arkham City. LA Noire had me pumped but then I played it and what I found wasn't pretty. Boring gameplay, nonsensical car chases and a homicide desk which forced you to play the same f*cking crime over and over again. I haven't completed it and I doubt I will, it was a massive disappointment. Yet I completed Heavy Rain, GTA IV, Arkham Asylum and a lot of other games. I just want more games grounded in reality. Words can scarecely describe how f*cking sick I am of post-apocalyptic shooters and the Call of Duty series. It's like I went to sleep and all of a sudden this sh*tty, by-the-numbers FPS is the most popular game in the world. Here's hoping Arkham City, Hitman: Absolution and GTA V live up to their potential.

Nah this asshole is pretty shallow. You probably didn't get what I mean. I'm talking about the games that have been released so far and my current interest in gaming. d0mm2k8
Words can scarecely describe how f*cking sick I am of post-apocalyptic shooters How many post apocalyptic shooters are there? People always say there are loads but I'm not seeing many (at least not as many as modern military FPS). I always lose interest in gaming around this time of year. I play all the time during autumn and winter but starting in late spring I begin to play less and less until not at all in summer. Summer's always been known to be the dull phase in the year for gaming too; just wait until October-November.
Don Garcia
It's not so much that I'm bored of playing video games, it's more that I'm liking less and less games these days. I thought RDR and LANoire were only okay, and offered *me* no replay value. The only games I've put real hours into these past few years were Fallout 3 and New Vegas. This is why I eagerly await Skyrim.
El Zilcho
Mostly these days I only come online to talk in Xbox Live parties (it's great for talking to friends as you can chat for ages for free, up to 8 people. Like a massive Skype conference call) or listen to Last FM. I takes quite a lot of people asking me to come on a game for me to budge. I think it's only until a new game comes out and it'll grab my attention but yeah, I know how you feel. U R B A N I T A S

E.A.B.
The complete opposite with me Been playing TF2 non-stop for hoooouuuuurrrssssssss. I sometimes go through the phase of ''stop playing for a bit until another game catches my interest''. Or sometimes, I stop playing and start diverting time towards something else, like finishing up a TV show season and whatnot. Then there's the ''I'm not ready to start the game yet...'' phase. Where I know beginning a game will take devotion, since I sit through a single gaming session for a long time, and over-analyze the story and everything about the game world. Bioshock was a real treat when it came to this.
Rebel
I really miss gaming at the minute. But that's probably because I'm halfway round the world from my Xbox and PC. I'm so looking forward to getting back and finishing off Portal and then getting myself L.A Noir - playing that until my fingers bleed and until Saints Row 3 comes out a long with some other games that I'm excited about. I did go through a phase though when I was at home when I wouldn't touch my Xbox even though I had just gotten New Vegas. Boy do I miss playing that now, especially since I've been in Arizona so I've kind of been reminded about the names of places and what not. FullMetal
I'm still a big time gamer geek but I just simply can't play due to being busy with alot of other things. It sucks big time... t0xiC
I think it has to do with growing up, I recently turned 20 and a lot of things I used to enjoy when I was younger just seem dull and boring to me now. We change with age, I guess.
Moth
I think I'll always be a gamer, movies and music don't have the draw to me, as games and books do. But as always, this time of year, gaming sucks. Summer is always a dry spell for new games, plus I feel that most games that do come out during the summer are nothing compare to Oct-Nov, espically this year, with skyrim, uncharted 3 and saints row the third all coming out around the same time. Chargr
I only get about 3 Games a year. Call Of Duty/NBA 2K games/ & one extra game like last year (Midnight Club L.A). I haven't bought any games so far this year, but later on I will. MW3/NBA 2K12/ Saints Rows 3, I don't see the point of getting more games since all I'm interested in is COD/NBA 2K Games/ GTA. SIKKS66
I tend to play Fifa and Football Manager a lot but on the whole I think my appetite for gaming has gone a bit. Both LA Noire and New Vegas need finishing amongst other games.

Mister Pink
Over the last 2 years my fondness for gaming has sky-rocketed and I'm 26. It's probably because I got 2 new Xbox's over this time, now, having the latest slim one. I found myself bored of the games I had , which were limited. I used to only play PES and GTA. Then when I got my slim I bought loads of second hand games. Games I thought I wouldn't like but when you sit down to them, they grow on you. Games like Prince Of Persia, Need For Speed, Fallout 3 & Batman: AA have provided me with plenty of fun. I think, if you got a bit of spare cash, step outside your comfort zone and invest in a game that you might have thought you wouldn't have liked. Make sure it's got a good rating though and you might be pleasantly surprised! I get bored of gaming too though. If you give it a break every and come back to it, it's always fun. Also, it's the summertime for a lot of the gaming world. Go out enjoy the summer. Then when it gets to winter again decent releases will start coming out again, nights in front of the TV/Xbox/PS3/PC will seem more appealing. It would also f*cking help if there was another GTA out. Jake
If you're bored of games, go download some demos. There are buttloads available, and it will let you know how other titles flow. Me personally I just haven't felt like playing any games for a week or two. I have bursts sometimes when I get really into a game, usually on release. After a while I stop. If you don't feel like playing games anymore just get a new hobby.
