If we returned to VC or SA, would they be the same with minor tweaks or completely overhauled like LC. I ask this because GTA III LC didn't do new York justice, so they changed it for IV, but on the othe hand VC and SA did do their locations well, so would there be change?

Would you be slightly disappointed if the map didn't change, as I pretty much know SA like the back of my hand, so exploring at the start wouldnt be as fun.

2)

If we revisited a previous location which is still resembles the previous era one, for example if we went to SA and grove street was still the same, would it be weird not having Cj involved SOMEHOW, I guess all be it a smaller role. Or if Cj was a celebrity (considering the possible Easter egg of him outside the hotel in algonquin.) or just a pedestrian?

the map would obviously be completely re-designed, like LC in GTA IV

but if they revisited SA, im confident they would include grove street, even if it wasnt part of the story. and it would probably look similar in a way to the original.

I really hope the IV Era is not over. I'd love to go back to Vice City and see Yusuf Amir handling real estate. Or go to San Andreas and see Dwayne Forge having a fresh start and starting a new gang.

It would definitely be re-done completely. It's going to be over twice the size and it's gonna be modern day so if it is San Andreas. Time will have changed a lot of things and new structures will be up and scenery will be totally different. There probably will be very little similarity if any at all. Which in my opinion is a very good thing. I for one would love to go back to completely redone SA. And much bigger too....with all of the fun factors that made SA what it was. Jet planes (and all type of planes) jet packs, bikes, tanker trailers, monster trucks, atv's, rocket launchers that lock on. Plus add in the aspect of tuning cars and the ability and mechanics to drift and it will elevate GTA to a whole other level.

I agree. However, unless they can make the map big enough, I'd prefer them to set the game in only one of the SA cities, so they can concentrate on making it realistic to it's real life counterpart.

I think the III era is completely over now, so maybe we'll be seeing a couple more games tied in with the IV era. Like VC and SA after III. I'm not saying the same locations, but hopefully a storyline tied in with the IV canon.

Official General

If Rockstar do decide to re-visit Vice City for GTA at any point in the future, I'm pretty sure they would create Vice City to be much bigger size than it was before in the original game. Miami (Vice City's real-life counterpart) is a much bigger city than it was before back in the 1980s, it has greatly grown and expanded over the years into modern times. In fact a much larger and more modern-looking Vice City would do Miami more justice. Also, this time around, I would like to see Rockstar create not only a much bigger Vice City, but also a whole state based on South Florida with different other cities and towns, farmland, countryside, rivers, lakes, swamps, forests etc.

@ kesta195

I agree with you on what you stated about a new San Andreas game. I would much rather Rockstar concentrated on on just one city if they were to make anything SA-related again. I would to see them concentrate on Los Santos (LA) and immediate surrounding areas only if they were to re-visit SA.

Anyone who expects Vice City or San Andreas to look the same in future titles clearly can't get over the fact that the GTA III era is over. Some things are better left up to the consumer's interpretation. The same thing can be said for the GTA IV era. As it is with each passing generation in the videogame industry, developers have the opportunity to create new eras in existing franchises, if not completely new IPs. So if we're going to see Vice City and/or San Andreas again, I expect it to feel fresh.

I just want a HD version of them,I mean why not?I didn't see the point in killing off all the III era characters either,it's just f*cking pointless.

I doubt that we'll be seeing SA redone until the next gen consoles come out, but if (and I'm hoping soon) we do see VC redone, it will be completely revamped like IV LC, but much bigger with hopefully some surrounding suburbs, farmland, swamps, etc. Also, if VC were to be used on next gen consoles, I think it'd be nice to include VC with some other southern cities, like say, New Orleans and maybe Atlanta or something to add variety.

When we do see SA again, I'd like to see not only a revamped LA and LV, but also the entire Bay Area (obviously scaled down) instead of just SF, which doesn't feel right.

If you want an HD version of the games, you're more than welcome to pick them up for the PC. Games that have received the HD remake treatment like God of War and Sly Cooper were exclusive to the PlayStation brand at a time when consoles weren't built to be HD compatible. Also, the reason they killed off the GTA III characters, and I'm assuming you're talking about the graffiti in GTA IV, was to make it clear to the fans that Rockstar is focusing on a new era. It's not like they broke into your house and destroyed your GTA III games.

I think if it was the same map of San Andreas as the III era I wouldn't be dissapointed. If the map was the same for Vice City then I would be dissapointed because Vice City was small to me.

If in San Andreas, it would be weird without Cj, because Cj is like the main character. When you hear San Andreas I guarentee Cj is the first thing to come to mind and Los Angeles and the second. If on Grove Street Cj better have some role or it would be completely different and I might be dissapointed. Not sure yet.

Good topic. icon14.gif

No offense, but that sounds like something a fanboy would say. According to you the first thing that comes to people's minds when they think about San Andreas is CJ. What about Vice City? People don't think about Tommy? Either way, that's no excuse to keep things the same with San Andreas if they do decide to go with that location. Compared to games nowadays it would be too small.

The map in Red Dead Redemption, for example, was twice as big in comparison. I personally thought it felt much bigger than that but then again you would get around with a horse or a train if not just your own two feet. San Andreas will definitely be bigger than its predecessor because first and foremost it's a state. Driving from one side to the other in a straight line under a minute or two is not realistic.

How about Liberty City, Alderney, Carcer City, Vice City, San Andreas all in one including cities in other countries such as London, Tokyo, Dubai, Sydney, etc!
