Obtaining the Slamvan

Someone posted a video in April of a way to get the Slamvan in "Frosting on the Cake" via some button trick that lets you get out of the car during the sticky bomb chase sequence. It is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=323rjTXcjbM

 

I need help confirming if this trick works, and if so, the easiest way to replicate it. Someone posted what he thought was the button combination, but I couldn't get it to work.

 

I'm mainly looking for confirmation on PS3 and Xbox 360, not PC.

Someone wrote in the comments section of that video the buttons you have to press to get it to work on Xbox, I've asked there what buttons you have to use on PS3. To make a guess I think it may be X, square, triangle, circle, L1 and L2 buttons, I think. See if that works.

I've tried that, to no avail. Once though, I managed to get Luis to delay getting inside the limo by about 5 seconds. I could run around and stuff, but he eventually automatically walked to the car and got in. That's why I'm trying to get people to help with this.

It seems this whole ordeal of getting the Slamvan is like the whole issue of getting the Skylift, it works for some but not for others.

The Skylift is more an issue of it not working on PS3. It definitely works on the 360's DLC version, I may be buying the EfLC disc soon, and I can try on that (also for 360, though).

 

I think this trick may indeed work for the Slamvan, but it's a matter of figuring out what exactly triggers it.

I'm not sure on exactly how it's supposed to work. Maybe by messing with the script to get you into the car and have you be locked there?

 

I'd suspect it too, but I did manage to delay Luis getting in for about 5 seconds on one try, meaning there just may be something behind this, albeit luck-based, or requiring very specific timing.

not me. i haven't gotten my hard drive with my EFLC to boot correctly this week. but i will be interested to see what develops. what is special about the slam van? does it have weapons like cop cars?

It's very rare, as in nowhere in the game except in that mission. No weapons though or any other special features.

 

Will try it on my pc if this trick would work.

 

Trick for getting the skylift involves cheats. Personally I think this invalidates your action as a raw skill in obtaining it. If cheats would be involved then just spawn it using the codes.
