EasyAs
I am a noob, I will admit that. I only just now got a good PC, and I wanted to try GTA4 with some mods. Its not working right now, and I know this isn't the board for it, so when I finally figure out why its screwing up, I want to tweak some of the games values... I don't know anything about this, can't tell my consoles from my trainers I hate most of the mods I see that make your pistol do x1000 times damage or some nonesense that makes the ragdolls and cars spazz out. All I want to do is slightly enhance things like explosions and bullet force... I don't want a pistol round to send someone cartwheeling over a building, but I'm bored with them jerking and falling over, so I wanna know how I can tweak it. I want a point blank shotgun blast to put someone up against a wall hard enough to rebound, and an SMG burst to send someone backpedalling. Cheat
I don't know a mod that does exactly what you said you would like for it to do, but if you want to take your game on another level and make almost everything fun and cool possible, download the Simple Native Trainer, it's kick-ass and simple to use. NaidRaida
I know this isn't the board for it Why then posting it? Look for the GTA IV modding section. To get the game free for modding you need to patch your filelist.pak file (location: pc/data/ folder). Before you didn´t do that you cannot mod anything. Take this one and of course make backups all the time like a clever modder: http://www.mediafire.com/?w4lj54pqxiocia6 Once you changed to this file you can start modding like you want, otherwise the game won´t let you due to file protection. EasyAs
I've done as you said, and it didn't work. I've replaced the filelist file with the one provided, I've tried both Scripthook and ASI Loader, seperately and together, and still I can't use mods. I copy the mod files to the Scripts folder and nothing. Whenever I start GTA4, I get a "GTA4 has encountered an error and needs to close" Message, but a second later, the game opens up on top of that message. The graphics have a shiny metal sheen to them now. I tried adding the mscr dll (I think thats it, not sure) but it didn't fix it.
