SIKKS66
I'm sure there's a thread for phones in the Tech forum? Try asking there. I have a Curve and the battery drains like a motherf*cker.

All my friends say that if they charge their Curve's at the beginning of the day (8 am) it is almost empty by 3 pm, is yours that bad?
Mr.Mister
I've got the curve as well, the battery life aint too bad. I turn mine off when I sleep so it lasts me about two days. My brother has the bold, I dont think its much different. Just get whatever is cheaper
Ryan
Which ones are you looking at specifically? I'd say go for one of the Blackberry Bold's. They're more powerful than the Curve's, and they have the new Blackberry OS. That said though, there's not really a whole lot of a difference between them, so go for whichever is cheapest. FYI, should have posted in Tech and PC Chat.

SIKKS66
I'll probably get a Bold when I get chance to upgrade. Curve isn't so bad, I guess my battery drains so much cause I browse and go on Twitter a lot. But yeah, I charged it last night and it was dead when I got out of work at 5 today

Lithium
I have an older curve which does me right, but it might be time for me to upgrade as well. My battery seems to be f*cking up on me lately. I'd go with the Bold if I were you. Nice phone.

ska
I own a Curve 8530. It's an okay phone, but like SIKKS66 said, it has absolutely terrible battery life. I'm not sure what the updated Curve 9300's are like, but I imagine it's probably the same deal. Go for the Bold. That, or consider Android. Cursed
I have a Curve 9300 running Blackberry OS6. Since I charge my phone overnight the battery is not an issue, but it seems to last a few days if I don't charge it. Even though there's nothing really wrong with my Curve, I'd definetely be tempted by the Bold simply for its higher resolution screen and better camera. Pico
The Bold is better in overall specs. should only be a $50 difference between the two, so if youve got it tto spare, go for it. Or be smart and get an Android phone.

Cursed
why get a dying brand? Although I'd definetely agree that there are phones out there that are much better than any Blackberry, you should see how popular the Curve is over here in Britain. Seems almost everyone has one nowadays.
Finn 7 five 11
Or be smart and get an Android phone. Wanna go on Facebook and such? I would recommend a full touch android straight away. FOr the price being asked for a blackberry in my opinion it would be stupid to get it over a touchscreen.

Unless you need the email support of BB, why get a dying brand? ...Usually for the email support. That's the only reason I got a BlackBerry over an iPhone. That said, the email support in Android appears to be nearly as good, if not actually as good, as that on my Curve 8900. The email support on BBOS is excellent, but I've also used Android phones and theirs seems to be just as good. Really, owning a Blackberry would make no sense anymore seeing as the other OSes and devices are so ahead right now in terms of features. I guess it depends on the person though and their specific needs. Hell, I met a guy once who wouldn't give up his Blackberry because of the keyboard design. d00d
Okay, let me break it down for you. I've got a lot of experience with Blackberries and phones in general. The Curve is your basic phone. Its not capable of 3G speeds (unless you buy the Curve 3G "9300"), so if you're planning on doing a lot of internet browsing or fiddling with large e-mail attachments forget about it. It has a lower res screen, slower CPU and less memory. Thats not to say its a bad phone, for a communications device its great. It also has the best keyboard I've used to date on any blackberry (including the Bold). Now the Bold is another kind of animal. As I mentioned, better screen, faster CPU, more memory. The build quality is substantially higher than the Curve, and of course you get the 3G radio. Now the important thing to note here is there are currently two bolds - the 9700 (running BBOS5) and the 9780 (running BBOS6, also comes with double the memory of the 9700). Not much difference in the two apart from that, just be sure you're not getting conned here, as they look identical. Bear in mind later this year the Bold 9900 will be out (same size as the Bold 9000 but with a touchscreen and heavily bumped specs) and the Torch 2 also (but typing on one of these is truly awful). My advice would be if you can wait, hold out for the Bold 9900.

d00d
The touchscreen is nicely implemented, imo. You still get the full QWERTY and trackpad, but the touchscreen is there if you want to use it. I'd imagine there is even a way to turn it off if you desire. Here's a pic of it: (No, I don't work for Blackberry nor do I own shares in it. I just know a lot about them and so am dishing out my knowledge and opinions).
