Quince99 Posted June 19, 2011 Share Posted June 19, 2011 I've had trouble bowling when I installed the Blue Bowling Alley mod so removed the entire GTA IV install and savegames. Then did a re-install from DVD patched through to 1.0.3.0 at first. Went bowling from safehouse in Hove Beach, pressed E to bowl and for half game; selected a game, the rack came down depositing NO pins! Took position and bowled, ball flew down middle then, when it came to the "invisible pins" took off to side and guttered itself! Patched to 1.0.4.0 (again no mods of any kind beyond the inGame trainer) and this time as soon as the ball left Niko's hand (heading for the invisible pins once more!) the ball animation froze at the top of the lane (whilst still spinning the nall's animation frames). Having removed savegames I patched to 1.0.6.0 and later 1.0.7.0 with no effect apart from the guy at the bowling arcade changed his shirt! How am I supposed to: 1) bowl with Michelle (or any other person)? 2) win the bowling awards? Are there any fixes I can make myself with a DAT file or similar? NaidRaida Posted June 19, 2011 Share Posted June 19, 2011 Be glad, now you have a good reason to say "No Roman, no time for bowling". Seriously, what you´ve told sounds very strange. I suppose a mod is causing this malfunction. I had also issues with the bowling sequence caused by trainer scripts. Disable/delete all mods and try to play bowling on a pure stock patches game. Quince99 Posted June 19, 2011 Author Share Posted June 19, 2011 Thank you for these suggestions - I reinstalled and patched to 1.0.3.0 (want to use the Pigeon Detector script!) and will go up to 1.0.4.0 after flying rats have been dealt with... In its original format the bowling worked fine and as I began to add files gradually, I noticed that a couple of pins were missing from the lineup and then the ball would freeze. Removing individual files and re-testing I discovered this culprit to be ScriptHook.dll. Since I need this to run scripts should I be looking for a specific version of this DLL to work with 1.0.3.0 and 1.0.4.0? (I already have at least three different iterations of this file!) NaidRaida Posted June 19, 2011 Share Posted June 19, 2011 Yeah, if you already targeted the script as cause of this then you probably need a different script or asi loader od whatever. I´m pretty sure that some scripts or loaders affect things like goin bowling. Since I use scripts I was never bowling. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
