ZBNYNC
I have been modding GTA IV with cars and various mods for about half a year now and have never had this problem until lately, sometimes I will spawn a vehicle, it doesn't matter which one, and it won't have any sound at first. Once the vehicle has been driven around a bit the sound normally kicks in. The horn works and when the tires skid they do make the right noise. It's just one of those annoying things that are hard to deal with. I am positive that the vehicles.ide line is correct. I also know that it is my sound card because the problem only happens in GTA IV with vehicles. Can anyone please help me out? My PC specs: ATI Radeon HD5750 video card, Intel DP43Bf motherboard, 8GB of RAM, Intel Core 2 Q9650 processor
NaidRaida
I have this also, seems that this comes directly from the game engine especially with modded vehicle data implemented. I don´t know a way to fix this and this also doesn´t disturb me much cause after some seconds the sound come back. The only thing that might prevent this "bug" is to avoid modding the vehicle data, especially with high poly model files which may affect the way a model is loaded. Pretty sure this issue isn´t caused by any hardware malfunction. It´s an engine/modding issue.
Apex_Skins
This only happens to me on rare occasions, like when I've been playing for 4 hours or so lol Also, I've had this happen on the 360 before so it must be an issue with the coding.
SNAKE DOC
This happens to me in vanilla GTA IV after playing online for a while. Most cars lose their engine sound (and radio) but you can hear the tires screech. Restarting the game solves it, like you probably already know. ZBNYNC
Yeah, I'm really starting to see that Rockstar didn't do a good job in some parts of the game to some extent, apparently vehicle sound is one of those areas.
