as long as first person view was optional, and you could switch back to 3rd person using the normal select button, then yes it would be good.

 

theyd have to work hard for it to look right though.

Also, I agree, FPS should be optional. IMO 3rd person is probably the most suitable for players.

Personally, no, GTA wouldn't be too good in FPS IMO, I don't know why, but to go around the city and interact with sh*t, it's just easier in Third Person.

I played through the storyline of IV once using just a first person view mod, and although it was cool for a while I must admit I prefer the 3rd person view. However the question is not about preference, it is about whether or not you would play GTA if it was first person only. I voted yes, because i probably would.

I'm not going to lie, I'd play it and I know I'd play the hell out of it too, so I voted yes. But I wouldn't like it as much as I would playing through the traditional third person view. An FPS GTA just wouldn't have the same feel, and in many cases it'd just seem so wrong to do. I know I'd feel a bit disappointed by it even though I'd still purchase the game, as R* has their hooks in me.

I'm actually not very big on first person shooters, so no. I like Grand Theft Auto just the way it is.

Also, as other people have said, first person just wouldn't fit GTA.

in my view it would fit just fine, but it would have to be an option. and if it was good enough it would emphasis the action. as long as the animation looked good still and looked just as good in 3rd person.

 

but i still say it needs to be optional.

Nah, it just wouldn't feel right tbh. I mean, maybe as an optional setting to fool around with every now and then, but I wouldn't want it to be forced upon me. And tbh, I'd rarely ever use it if it was a setting, if ever.

I'd play it. After experiencing First-Person mode in Far Cry 2, I found that it wouldn't be that difficult to play a GTA game in the first person mode, even if it is not optional. So I voted "Yes".

 

Moreover, it would make the game more real, as well as give you the feeling that YOU are taking part in those events and not the protagonist.

Call of Duty and GTA series are two totally different types of games and therefore cannot be compared. Fact!

 

If people say Call of Duty is better, it's their own opinion. You can't really hate them for that. Learn to respect others' opinions.

 

I say Call of Duty is better than GTA, but in its own way. And vice versa.

seriously man, dont be a call of duty fanboy. i understand you're a fanboy, but just because im asking a question about gta being a first person shooter doesnt automatically say that im comparing it to call of duty. you know, not every fps game is call of duty. medal of honor came out before call of duty, and doom came out before medal of honor

not every fps game is a call of duty ripoff. in fact, call of duty is a doom ripoff
