_GTAFREAK_
I felt in love with GTA because of Vice City... it's all its fault! I was about 14, and my cousin invited me to go to his house playing with him this famous PS2 thing (which by that time I didn't knew much about things like this...), and the game he was playing was VC. At first, I didn't wanted to play it... but I couldn't resist much longer, and some days after, I already was playing it and, not only I was playing but I was KICKING MY COUSIN'S ASS with my way of playing and driving! After getting to know the game, and feeling like this is damn awesome, I found myself wondering: Where the hell did I was through all this time, that I didn't noticed how COOL this thing is? So, basically, since that day, I'm a true fan of the Series...

Buffalo Soldier
2002. I was a kid basically, and me and my best bud were always into PS2 games but we never actually played GTA III. I remember this day so well - it was really sunny which oddly enough adds to the atmosphere of, none other than the amazing Vice City. So we were sitting there and he just stuck some game on and it blew me away, the graphics, Tommy Vercetti, the malibu club, the freedom and the music. Since then I went and bought GTA III and Vice City, fell in love with both of them but Vice City in particular.

zeppelincheetah
wow a lot of you started young! I played nothing but mario games pretty much until I was like 13. Duke Nukem 64 was the first M-rated game I ever owned. I first discovered GTA in 1999 when I was 14 or 15. I remember specifically it was my second semester of High School. I was at a friends' house and he was playing GTA on his PC. I thought it was cool, cause at the time 90% of all the games I was playing were totally innocent. This game was unlike any game i've seen. You're a criminal, you steal and kill innocents. You're a real bad guy, running from the cops as well. Also there was so much freedom - you could go anywhere and do anything in a fairly large city map. The graphics looked like sh*t but the gameplay more than made up for it. I hadn't "fallen in love" with GTA yet though. I fell in love with GTA with Grand Theft Auto III. Just perfect. Since then I've been crazy about GTA and it has become BY FAR my favorite series. I am so looking forward to Grand Theft Auto V!
Zisis1992
I was 9 years old when i visited an internet cafe... I first played GTA II... But it didn't grow up to me... Until i play Vice City back in 2003... I was in a friend's house, playing for hours, and then my parents asked me why i didn't come earlier in home... From then, i love GTA series. Bad Girls
Back in January 2003 (I was only 10) when I went to see my grandad, my older cousin who was about 15 or so was playing this amazing game called Grand Theft Auto: Vice City where you could do whatever you liked and steal any car you wanted, killed any person you wanted, had a big city to explore and an amazing soundtrack. Me and some of my other cousins just used to sit there and watch. About a month later I managed to sneak a 3-5 minute play on it, but I sucked.. I kept falling off the motorcycle, etc. But to be honest, although Vice City is an epic game and easily my natural close second favourite (actually really I love it just as much), it's GTA III I fell in love with. I nicked my cousins copy of GTA III because I desperately wanted a GTA game, but I knew my parents wouldn't let me get such a violent game in a million years, so I "swapped" discs, lol, I put some game of mine in the GTA III case and put the GTA III disc in my game case. I knew he wouldn't notice because he was a very casual gamer and didn't like GTA III much anyway. I brought it home, popped it in my PS2 and was blown away - I was on Portland for literally weeks. I had so much fun exploring the city, killing people, blowing up ambulances, driving from the police, etc. I still get this weird feeling when I play GTA III, even now, but I guess that's nostalgia. Simply amazing, though. Although unfortunately the disc ended up getting scratched and every time I went to play it, I'd get an "error reading" and the whole game would go into blue hell. My parents also found out I stole it and made me give it back, although tbf, he wasn't bothered and I never told them it was broken. I eventually got my sister to buy me my own GTA III copy (it was used for about £10) and she also got me GTA VC for my 11th birthday in Nov 2003, lol. tl;dr: Feb 2003!
