fireguy109
And you want it to stop? Does this only happen when you shoot this one building?
Frank.s
The collision for the building you are shooting has a cement material that creates the damage-dust. Find the building's col model and change it to "Default [0]" as you can guess, that material doesnt make dust when it gets shot.
Young_M
thanks for that quick answer but wheres the col model ?
fireguy109
Download Colleditor 2 if you don't already have it. Go into the maps folder, find the appropriate zone, and the col file should be in there. Open it with Colleditor and do as frank instructed. BTW is it just me or is that the GTA III minimap?

foxunitone
Hey there. Maybe this will help. First, before you do ANYTHING, BACK UP ALL OF THE FILES YOU ARE ABOUT TO EDIT!!!!!!! Open map editor (Med). If you dont have it you can get it HERE. You will have to point it to your san andreas installation folder. It SHOULD work even with your mod. Once it opens, you should see some tabs in the upper left. Select scenes and check the boxes next to the areas you want to load. For a more detailed explanation on Med, check the tutorial section of this board. Once you have loaded the area where the building is you want to change, find the building. Now double click on it and it should turn red. Now right click on it and select properties from the menu. At the top of the box that opens you will see sever options including one to view the objects col file. This will tell you the name of which .col archive it is in. Make a note of the name of both the col and the col archive. You will need this. Now go to your installation folder, then models. Find the gta3.img. open it with image tool or whichever you prefer, and search for the .col archive that you found in the properties of the building in Med. Extract it to your desktop. (right click on the entry and select extract) Open steve's col editor. If you dont have it, get it HERE. Now use col editor to open the .col archive you extracted. It will now show a list of the col files it contains on the left. Search for the col file that you found for the building in med. click on it and it should show you the building in the preview window. Now click the EDIT tab. highlight the building by holding left click and dragging across the whole thing, or click one section of it at a time while holding control. Once you have the whole building selected (will be red), click on the material bar. It may have a material name in it, or it may be a blank bar with three dots. Once the dropdown for it appears, select the option DEFAULT. Now save the file and go back to your gta3.img. search again for the col file. Now right click on it and select replace. Choose the file you just edited. Go to commands now and select rebuild archive. wait for it to finish and close it. Try your game again. -Fox Edited June 16, 2011 by foxunitone
