Slap-A-Hoe
Ok I got a couple questions about modding GTA IV. I modded GTA San Andreas alot and used IMG tool and TXD Workshop Does GTA IV use these? Or are there programs that are equal to those to use? Is it harder or easier to mod GTA IV? I been looking at mods and stuff for IV and keep seeing people say use the trainer and load objects for mods to work. What is that? Is that the only way to mod or is it the same way as SA. You mod something and its there all the time without a trainer? And last but not least, sorry for all the questions but, I seen a bunch of different mods to make GTA IV look awesome. Which mod would make my GTA look the most realistic?
Mr. Violence
no you can't use gta sa tools on iv it's generally easier to mod it depends on the mod though the trainer is called simple native trainer and is mostly required to load custom made race tracks or any mods that add objects to the world to make mods work you need: the asiloader(i suggest xliveless for latest patch) scripthook.dll(make sure it's the latest) and compatible scripthookdotnet any other requirements should be listed in the readme of the mod and i don't know about the last one since i don't have that good pc if you do, on the other hand, have like a quad, you should get enb and some other visual mods like realismIV or visualIV just remember to read the readme files before installing hope i helped
Slap-A-Hoe
I know IMG Tool and TXD Workshop won't work on GTA IV. I opened some mods to look at what files they were, even tho I didnt have GTA IV. And saw they weren't the same, I was just seeing if there were programs like TXD Workshop to just edit textures and stuff. Thats what I mainly like to do. But thank you for all the help. And I dont have a good computer, yet, mine right now can't even run GTA IV at the main menu. But I'm getting a new built to play this game. Mr. Violence
well if you want to edit textures you need sparkIv or openIV then you need to open the texture file in it(i think it's wtd but not sure) and extract the texture you want to change, or just import a new(i think .jpg works) texture instead of it and that's it you just need to watch the file size

Zyo
You will want to upgrade to a recent version too (if you haven't). 1.0.6.0 or 1.0.7.0 work well for modding. SparkIV (or openIV) are very important for modding, you will need to familiarize yourself with this to add new vehicles, weapons textures, sounds, ect Asiloader and Scripthook are cruical too (like the other folks here have mentioned) To make gta4 look better, a good place to start is with upgraded timecyc files to improve the weather system and lighting. If you havent already discovered them, these are worth looking at: ULTIMATE GRAPHICS TWEAK GTA ENVIRONMENT MOD Also if you have a good comp gta4 ENB should be investigated. Theres loads of posts about it and google should take you to the dev page. Good luck. Slap-A-Hoe
Yea I dont have GTA IV installed yet cause this computer cant run it, takes 10 minutes at the main menu. I just been browsing a bunch of mods waiting for my new computer. I'm dropping $800 on a new computer and told my friend I want to be able to run GTA IV with those ENB graphics or wutever. I want everything maxed out and dont want it to slow down no matter how many mods I add. Hopefully 800 will be enough. But one more question I just remembered. Hard to explain but I'll try my best to explain it. In GTA SA when I modded 1 building, lets say a hotel, the textures were the same as another hotel down the street around the block. Like 2 different buildings shared the same texures. I hated it. Are there any buildings like that in GTA IV? Stuff that share textures?
