When do you think the next GTA will be presented?

To not cause confusion I'm talking about the game being set. What time-era you will be playing the protagonist in.

 

Try to keep the subject clean and on topic

 

The logo is out, so what are you guys thinking? Retro? Modern?

 

 

Was fun while it lasted! It seems to be set in present day!

We've seen the 80s, we've seen the 90s and 2000s, we've even seen the 60s. I think it's time GTA fills in the gap and finally let us visit the 70s. I think it would be a decent time frame for GTA, especially if set in Las Venturas with the mob running the town.

I know what you mean, but you're not evil in LA noire, but RDR is close yes, but I put up the years for people to choose and give opinions

I would think a GTA somewhere between 50-70's could be alot of fun!

And 2012 gets my vote as far as the time setting goes in the next GTA. Seems logical but only time will tell.

Nice prediction but the thread's actually about what year we think the game's setting will be in, not when the game itself will be released.

It's pretty much guaranteed to be set in the present day based on the one casting call that was discovered.

This character was in an Indonesian prison during GTA IV, according the in-game Internet. So if he was recently released, that means the game takes place after 2008.

I think its funny how more people want a GTA in the year 3000 than the 80s or 90s.

The website names R* registered sometime ago now( if they are in fact for gta) suggests a bad economy, which is from 2009 the GFC to present.

I think they will go with a present day GTA. There is so much more to do. It feels like they only scratched on the surface with TV and internet in GTA IV.

2012 makes the most sense. I also think GTA V might not come out untill 2013, and assuming it's present day, that makes it at least 2012-2013. But... I voted the future (2013-2040) because I'd like to see it set in the not to distant future, say: 2020. Kind of like Modern Warfare and Metal Gear Solid 4. They have more flexability to give the global outlook and enviroment a creative twist of their own. I'd love to see 60's London/San Fierro/Los Santos aswell.

I really hope it's in the 70s. I hate the modern age.

 

That's the only thing about GTA4 I hate. Way too modern. I guess it's maybe because I like older things better. (Like music, movies, shows, cars, clothes, etc etc.)
