I'm new to this, but I'll start saying this.

 

I loved CoD 1, 2, MW 1 and MW 2, but not WaW and BO.

Strange if you look at the numbers - it are games 1,2,4,6 and sure as hell 8.

Why strange? All made be IW, 3, 5 and 7 are made by Treyarch.

Personally, I think they kinda suck. IW started with modern wars at the 4th game, Treyarch went on at the 6th. But BO, man, I got it, but I regret it (sorry for my English).

What about the model 1887's? I found that even worse than the Ranger akimbo's. The range was just bizarre, I think they patched it at one stage to nerf it a bit(which was needed big time). Those 2 guns caused so many bad words to come out my mouth.

 

 

You say that it's no fun when the other team constantly have Harriers and whatnot, but I bet you find it OK when you're team has them out?

Well that's the thing I didn't really, because it just made it harder to get kills yourself. Of course I like it when I had them, but I still would prefer them nerfed or out the game. My hate for when the other team had them far outweighed the positives of when I had them, by quite a distance.

 

And the thing about the respawn system was it was designed to make it hectic and action packed. The enemy you just killed would be spawned right round the corner. But I didn't think it worked too well because it ruined the team work, and overall flow of the game. In COD4 You got spawned next to your team mates and it encouraged you to stick together, plus it structured the game more. In MW2 everyone was all over the place and there was no co-ordination.

 

I loved COD4 so much, so MW2 was a big let down for me. I didn't even touch on the campaign which was a disaster as well. I hope MW3 can restore my love for the series.

according to CODWikia, there was meant to be coding for every weapons (minus obvious exclusions) to be available with Akimbo....and I dont think it was an actual player made mod, someone went into the game files and found code for Akimbo Thumpers, FAL's and ACR's...that would have been amusing but would make for a noobtastic time!

That was the shiiittt, that's how I met half of my xbox friends and we would convince ppl not to kill each other...

Maybe it was due to the patch, but I see alot more Akimbo Rangers been used than the Model 1887's.

 

Akimbo anything and it's a good class to use. Yeah, you lose the ability to aim and whatnot, but all you do is just try and keep them as center as possible and you're guaranteed a kill. I find that the best Akimbo secondary has to be the Akimbo PP2000's in MW2.

I get what you mean, but it all depends on how the other team play it. If they decide to run around in open, then yeah, the Harriers or whatever are guaranteed the kill, but if they all go hiding, then it's left for the people on the ground to grab the kills.

I don't mind been spawned around the corner from them, but it's whem am spawned literally in front of them, or in the same room/hallway.

Almost got it, the series is sinking.

 

I honestly hope to f*ck this is the last time they make the game this way, to end the brilliant story started in MW1, and completely ruined in MW2.

 

If the next game isn't something at-least minimally creative I'll be irrevocably pissed.

I hope they draw an end to the Modern Warfare series, by all means keep the modern setting, just let Price and Soap finish it. I didnt play any of the older COD's but by the sounds of things, the simplicity of the WWII era games was much better. after MW3, I think IW should refocus on a Vietnam game (a proper one, not like Black Ops) or Marines in the Middle East. I love the bond Price and Soap have build but they deserve closure as much as the next person, it's already becoming cliche to see them as survivalist heroes.

 

with that said, I'm hoping the Delta Force side of the story will be awesome, I can live an over the top Task Force/Soap and Price campaign as long as there is decent combat on the other side of the pond.

With thing escalating with Pakistan and the US's already horribly strained relationship with Iran, North Korea, and China (at times) it wouldnt surprised me if we saw a war with one of them soon... weather its real life or in a video game no one knows.

Modern Warfare is already based in the future. CoD 4 was based in 2011 and MW2 is based 5 years later. It's already dealt with escalating insurgencies in the middle east and instead of China, Russia has been used (the two are usually substituted during a US WW3 scenario).

If I can just go off topic; why do people feel the need to slam games other people are looking forward too? There's no point to it, its like trying to convince your friend which beer tastes better. Everyone has their own individual taste. By barging into a thread and going 'this g4m3 is teh sux' you're not changing anyone's opinion on the game, the only opinion you're changing is them thinking that you are a massive wanker.

 

Back on topic though, as Claude4Catalina stated, I hope this game wraps up the trilogy. I'm still pretty undecided on whether I'll actually purchase it though. I, like I'm sure many other people, am waiting for the multiplayer reveal before I make a decision on whether I'll buy it or just rent it for the weekend to play the single player. Call me a sucker, but the Call of Duty storylines are some of my favourites regardless of how cheesy they are just because of how many explosions, testosterone and just pure ridiculousness they contain.

Yes, there are people who have "differing tastes". However, there are so many people who are just simply tasteless in so many ways. They like that is popular because it is popular, the most invalid and false reason for liking something.

 

There are people who hated Pantera until the mainstream media made it a point to widely report the murder of the guitarist Darrel Dimebag. Then those same people decided that Dimebag was a god on guitar and will say that they always loved Pantera.

 

I'm not saying that everyone should have the same tastes as me, that would be about as bad as it is now. I'm saying that there are too few who critically think for themselves. Who "take it up the ass" without question. The principles of supply and demand really hinders the chances of the games that I want (and the games that GTA fans want for that matter) being produced and released.

 

I hate how only a handful of types of games are having the most effort poured into them. It really hurts those who really loves video games. Casual gaming is a casualty to gaming everywhere. Even shooters are affected by the glaring lack of true quality and character that were offered by the video games of the past.
