Claude4Catalina
the f*cked up exfil is about a stereotypical as GTA's drug deal ambushes, you know it's gonna come but the outcome usually surprises you. also in Victor Charlie, when the Huey drops off ground support, half the time the Marines get blown to f*ck by a hiding Charlie with an RPG....bastard. Black Tuesday looks awesome though, any footage of Mind The Gap?
Minic
Ok, I'll concede that the mag goes in there without a modelled bullet. Argument over, BF3 is obviously superior in the bullet-in-the-top-of-an-open-magazine-about-to-be-inserted-into-a-rifle department. But there was a cut in the trailer. Anyway, watching the first minute or so of that video made me think. Since CoD 4, has the player ever actually made a successful landing in a helicopter? Or do they all crash? in the gulag, u have a successful landing, in payback, too Was about to say that. Haven't seen the gameplay videos so could someone tell me if Price or Soap appeared in any of the videos? Soap and Price haven't shown up in any media yet, but I bet they'll be in there somewhere and it'll be a case of they won't show up in the public eye until someone gets an early copy and posts some video on on YouTube of them in the game like what happened with MW2 and Price. @Claude4Catalina: There hasn't been any footage of Mind The Gap from what I've seen, though I think that was the missions press have been shown behind closed doors at E3 and other press events, it'll surface eventually I think. KilnerLUFC
*MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS* (am not covering it in spoiler tags as it's annoying for huge clumps of text.). May have also been posted/read, but wasn't sure. The second level we were shown was titled 'Mind the Gap." It takes place in the Canary Wharf District of London on a rainy night. Your British SAS unit has been tasked with obtaining some suspicious cargo that is being loaded into trucks from a dock. The level starts off with a bit of reconnaissance, presumably from a UAV. You commanding officer emphasizes that the operation must remain as covert as possible. Your view then zooms down to earth level and you embody one of the SAS operatives. You use a silenced MP5 as you go building to building, silently taking out tangos. When you reach the dock, you engage in a firefight with the Russians and take control of the truck only to discover that the cargo is nowhere to be seen. Another section of the level has you chasing Russian soldiers down into the London Tube. They take control of a train and speed off. You peruse them from the back of a pickup truck. This is the same set of sequences shown in the gameplay reveal trailer. After several near misses with oncoming trains, the lead pickup truck in front of you crashes into the train and derails it. This sends train cars tumbling lengthwise down the tunnel, crashing through support beams. Your truck crashes and you are thrown to the ground. The level fades to black. Fourzerotwo told us that this was not the end of the level. Source: MapModNews

AHARHAR... >.> No, seriously...there's little change because these are fast action FPS games that have a pretty solid fan base. Considering how they were when they first were released...they've added a lot. Really, there isn't much more to add in my opinion. Except for the swappable in game scope action they added. That's a cool little addition. Other than that, we love the CoD games for what they are. The only variation we as fans and gamers and players of the CoD games want is new games. Mo maps, mo guns, mo death. There are of course little things that need work. Bullet detection, knife lag, etc. Someday they may get it in order. Don't try to defend Activision's laziness. You know damn well they are just milking the series because people will still buy them. They are doing what they did with Guitar Hero. Soon CoD will die for a while. (lol I beliebe in R*, not Activision )
AceRay
I'm a beleiber in god. Anyway, I can see that they are starting to milk AC too. You can't come up with the same game year after year and expect things to be okay. Soon, the fanbase are going to get tired and want something different. Then Activision's balls will drop off and melt into a thousand little pieces.

Jake
You can call it laziness all you want, man. No skin off my balls. They're a company wanting the digital dollar signs. Just the fact that we enjoy them is what matters, as I've said many times before this. I'm not defending Activision at all. I just enjoy their games. Nothing wrong with that. Hell, I haven't even played CoD for a week or more, but I know I'll still sit down and enjoy it whenever I want. No matter which one it is. No other FPS games have appealed very much to me. And I've tried all of the big titles from PC to Xbox to PS. It's good the way it is minus some minor bugs. To me, anyway. Only thing I'd like back is longer range shotty guns. AceRay
I just don't see why 2K got slated for Bioshock 2 being too similar to the original, but Activision make the same games every year and everyone loves 'em! If you like COD, thats fine, but for those can see the corruption of Activision are going to stay away!
Jake
Guitar Hero was a bit different in comparison, though. There's a lot more people out there that would rather go run 'n gun or try to snipe the run 'n gunners than there are people wanting to play with a fake guitar. That was more of a novelty thing that just faded after a couple years or whatever the hell time it was popular for. FPS games like CoD and the like will probably be around until we croak. But Activision have been making the same type of soup since 2007. They need to add some more cream, more tomatoes, more mushrooms, less salt, then mix it all up again the nest time and not just throwing in the same amount of vegetables every time. They need to take more risks! yeah, sure, some won't like the new soup but they can have the old soup if they really do. By making new soup, Activision will get more tasters! AceRay
If sales start to fall, they'll make new soup. what they need to do is go to the groceries to buy new vegetables BEFORE people stop eating their soup. When the stop, they'll get some new vegetables, and the first soup will be really good but then they'll make that soup over and over and the process starts again. Why? Because Activision cannot make good soup without adding too much milk.
tubbs51
Here's my stance..... Opinions are like assholes.... everyone has one and they all stink.... I loved playing CoD 4, MW2, BlOps and i'm sure i'll love playing MW3... Its the arcadiness that gets people coming back, I love the fact that at 2 am in the morning drunk off my ass i can pick up a controller and jump right into the action and kill some mother f*ckers... The Battlefield Series is awesome but I prefer a game i can hop in and hop out of and not have to re learn the game... The only major gripes i have from Black Ops is that the shot guns are worthless 90% of the time and major lag issues... if they keep Shotguns primaries and increase the range and power (somewhat) to the level of MW2's and fix the horrible lag and nasty matchmaking issues... (here in Washington State if you search local and it finds no one is on it'll put you in games with Australians or Japanese which causes horrid lag... it should instead search Oregon, Idaho, California, Colorado etc. etc)
Sunrise Driver
I suspect that WaW, MW2, BO, MW3 aren't CoDs 5-8, they are just big enhanced addons to CoD4 MW. And we may see totally new CoD 5 on new engine. Just like GTA III Era & GTA IV. But that's one serious flaw in my theory - Activision. Especially when they labeled that bad console WW2 game "CoD 3" (actual addon UO is so better than CoD 3).
Nitty Don
Put this in the eyes of Activision, if you had a winning formula for a good game that makes you alot of money, would you completely change that winning formula to please the minority or would you stick with a proven formula that will please the majority and make you sh*t loads of cash ? At the end of the day these precious game developers, develop games with one thing in mind PROFIT, they would be fools to change the game, a game they have spent years on making a cult following for. If you don't like a game then don't buy it the only way you as an individual can make a change is by voting with your wallets not ranting on a forum. If all the haters could keep their comments to a minimum, I'd like to just pop in here from time to time to get updates on the game, not updates on somebodies dislike for the entire series. Thanks

GTA_stu
I hope multiplayer isn't too unbalanced this time. Akimbo shotguns was an absolute joke, in fact anything akimbo is annoying, apart from pistols which is fine. The kill streaks were too op, no fun when the other team is constantly getting harriers and chopper gunners. And don't even start me on the tactical nuke, worst thing ever. "Yay we're about to win, oh what's that? The try hard that's camping in the corner got 25 kills, yeh you're right they do deserve to win. Maps were awful on MW2 as well, hated the respawning system and the most annoying things is the DLC. Anyways rant over.

Maps were awful on MW2 as well, hated the respawning system and the most annoying things is the DLC. Anyways rant over. The only akimbo I find annoying is the Ranger Akimbo, since that's what most people use, and at close range you have no chance whatsoever. The spread of the shotgun was quite wide aswell, so accuracy wasn't a major thing, whereas with the pistols and sub-machine guns, accuracy was low with Akimbo so took abit of skill, so I was never bothered with people using these. You say that it's no fun when the other team constantly have Harriers and whatnot, but I bet you find it OK when you're team has them out? I always make sure to have one of my classes set up with a Launcher as secondary, so when they send out their air support and I die, I just switch to this class and shoot them down, simple as. The harder one is the Chopper Gunner, which takes a few attempts to shoot down. I have Cold Blooded on this class with the Launcher, so as to give myself an advantage. The tactical nuke is not going to be in MW3, so you'll be fine. But yeah, as I said a couple of posts ago, it can get quite tedious on maps such as Wasteland and Derail, where once someone has a Chopper Gunner, that's pretty much game over. The maps weren't that bad I don't think, it was just the way that certain points were set up. Such as High-Rise, where someone was guaranteed to be killed within 5 seconds of the game starting. Quarry is a bastard due to how many ledges can be climbed upon, thus meaning you always have to check above your head whilst running around. The spawning system does need to be sorted out, but then again am complaining about the spawning system that's on GW on small maps. Too many times have I respawned, only to move a little forward and be over-run by the opposite team.
Jake
I always run with Ghost Pro and a Strela as my secondary in Black Ops. Since I never really felt there was any need to use the secondary weapons they offered, besides the Strela. No shotguns, no sale. So now, I easily take down all air support in two shots. And spy planes never stay up, as soon as they're deployed, I blow 'em to hell. And it definitely makes a huge difference. People don't have that radar to run around with looking for non Ghost players. And the air support that people have to build a few kills for is worthless if I'm in the game. They're lucky if they get one kill before I blow the choppers down. Edited June 21, 2011 by Jake
Robinski
On the subject of akimbo weapons, I think the perfect way to sum up the modern CoD games to anyone who's been under a rock for the past five years is to show them akimbo Desert Eagles. I remember hearing about it before release and thinking it was so f*cking stupid, but upon playing with them I realised how ridiculously, hilariously gansta it was and loved it straight away.
