yes a fair few from minor skins to zombie attacks on grove street

you think this could be the problem?

EDIT: here are the things ive tried so far

uninstalling the mods

using a no cd crack

using a gta_sa_compact.exe

removing the cleo folder

still same message though since i removed the cleo it now says it midway during loading

Yes it could be the cause. Get rid of them, and using alternative exe's and no-cd cracks is never the solution. As your game is modded, use the modding forums.

Part of the problem is: That is NOT an ORIGINAL game(by the screen shots you posted), you have, as the Retail(DVD) copies' packages look like these: from left to right in the photo: The left one is the Original release, the one in the middle is the new package that has the Vista requirements on it, and the right one is the Trilogy Pack for PC. These are the ONLY legal copies available, to my knowledge. Just a friendly heads up.. smile.gif

Also, as far as mods go, this quote right here by Justin(a moderator) describes it to a tee:

If you've got a problem and you're using mods, the problem is the mods - no questions. These problems belong in Editing Troubleshooting. If you've got a problem and you 'know' it's not the mods (  ), uninstall the mods and ask for help then, and only then. Don't waste our time by posting issues with modded games! All modding discussions should be directed this-a-way.

This quote is 100% true, as the game was not tested nor designed for mods, so that is why they are "hit or miss".

lil weasel

I believe OP has solved his problem, for now.

Heads-up overkill doesn't help, much.
